WandaVisionholds the title of one of the most anticipated TV shows of this year. After a long break, Marvel superheroes have come back, this time on TV. The show is unusual as it works with an intriguing concept. Wanda and Vision live in a sitcom and things aren’t what they seem to be. That makes the show fascinating to watch but also difficult to understand, at least at first.

It’s possible that future episodes will reveal the truth about what’s going on. But for now,WandaVisionremains a bizarre jewel that has a lot to offer but also causes confusion in the audience. And there are some things about the show that don’t make too much sense, possibly because the creators wanted it that way.

May contain spoilers for the plot of WandaVision.

10People Outside Can’t See It, But Not All Of Them

The fourth episode ofWandaVisionrevealed that the town of Westview shouldn’t exist, but it does. What’s even more bizarre is that some people can’t see the town, but others can. For example, local cops from nearby towns don’t see the town, but Darcy Lewis, Monica Rambeau, andall the SWORD personnel can. If Wanda is the one controlling who sees the town and who doesn’t, her power is strangely selective.

9Captain Marvel Ignored Her Dying Friend

One small detail that’s not as important for the plot but still raises some questions is Maria Rambeau’s fate. When her daughter Monica comes back to life after the blip, she learns that her mother had cancer and died three years ago. If that’s indeed the case, where was Captain Marvel? Carol and Maria were good friends, if not best friends. And if Maria was dying, it’s more than likely she would have wanted to say goodbye to Carol. Yet, the show makes no mention of Captain Marvel ever stopping by to see Maria before she died.

8Westview Citizens Know Something’s Wrong

The longer Wanda and Vision stay in Westview, the more cracks begin to show. That suggests thatWanda doesn’t have full control over the illusionshe’s possibly created, but how is that possible? Either Wanda’s slipping or even her magic isn’t enough to sustain the illusion. One such crack happens when Wanda’s and Vision’s neighbor Herb mentions they can’t leave the town.

In the fourth episode, the people investigating what’s going on put together a list of people who live in Westview. Since no one mentions otherwise, it’s safe to assume they’re all alive, unlike Vision, who’s dead. Thanos did kill him inAvengers: Infinity War(2018).

It’s clear that Wanda can make real people forget their previous identities, but creating a whole new person out of thin air is much more demanding. And what happens when Wanda isn’t with Vision at the moment and no-one else sees him? Could he disappear? The show offers many questions but very few answers.

6Vision Knows Something’s Wrong

Speaking of Vision’s life (or lack thereof), there is another, possibly nonsensical point. It’s probable the show will address it sooner or later, but for now, it doesn’t make sense. If Vision’s indeed dead and just Wanda’s imagination, he shouldn’t be able to realize something’s wrong with the world around him. Because if he’s dead, and tried to leave Westview, he would vanish. If Vision’s alive and Wanda can’t control him all the time, she shouldn’t have seen him as a corpse in her moment of weakness.

5Their Life Is A Sitcom

It would be understandable ifWanda created a whole new realitywhere she and Vision live happily ever after. After his tragic death at Thanos’s hand, she must long for a little happiness. That doesn’t explain whytheir shared fictional life has the form of a sitcom, though. Unless some other forces are at play, Wanda would have a much easier job creating a more ordinary setting for herself and Vision.

4The Progress Of Time

Wanda’s story progresses forward quickly from one decade to another, even though she and Vision mostly look the same. What’s unclear is how quickly time progresses out of Westview, and how long Wanda has been in the town.

She must somehow manipulate the space/time continuum in the city, otherwise what’s going on wouldn’t make sense.Wanda gets pregnantand has her children in a few hours, which is impossible unless there’s something bigger at play.

3Agnes Might Be A Villain, But She Acts Strange

One of the prevailing theories about the show is that Wanda isn’t responsible for the illusion, but Agnes is. Agnes visits Wanda shortly after the series starts, and she tries to befriend her. She stops Herb from telling Vision more about Westview.Agnes could indeed be the one pulling the stringsand censoring the show. However, if she was, she wouldn’t have to insert herself into the story. Instead, she could just take control of it from the editing room or somewhere else. If she did, Vision and other Westview citizens wouldn’t notice there’s something strange about her.

2Vision Doesn’t Go Into His Job Again

The first episode of the series is mostly aboutVision trying to impress his boss. Vision worries that if the dinner at their house doesn’t go smoothly, his boss, Mr. Hart, will fire him. Luckily, Wanda and Vision make a good impression on Mr. Hart and his wife in the end. Considering how much time the first episode spends on this plot, it’s strange it never revisits the question of Vision’s job in future episodes.

1Vision’s Strange Name

Finally, it’s also somewhat strange that nobody points out Vision’s strange name. Unlike Wanda’s name, Vision is far from a normal name. It would stand out even more in a small American city in New Jersey, such as Westview, and even more in the 1950s and 1960s. Yet no one points out there’s something strange about Vision’s name or the fact they never see him eat (with the exception of the chewing gum in one scene).
