Among Usdeveloper Innersloth has confirmed that it will have something to announce during The Game Awards 2022. This will be the third year in a row the developer has shown up at the annual award show to reveal new things for its popular social deduction game, having announced the Airship map in 2020 andAmong UsVR in 2021.
On top of celebrating the year’s best games, The Game Awards has become one of the top venues for teasing what’s to come in the next year and beyond. Highly-anticipated games likeStar Wars Jedi: SurvivorandTekken 8are slated to make an appearance, and plenty more have been rumored to be showing up at some point, includingFinal Fantasy 16, a newCrash Bandicootgame, andHideo Kojima’s next game.

Joining the list of confirmed reveals isAmong Us. Thedevelopers at Innerslothannounced on their Twitter page that fans can look forward to a “big” announcement tomorrow. Specifically, said announcement will be made during The Game Awards pre-show, which will start 30 minutes ahead of the main event at 4:30 PM PST/7:30 PM EST, so it will be one of the first big reveals of the night.
In addition to a new announcement, the event will see the return of the Geoff Mask, an in-game item sporting the face of Game Awards host Geoff Keighley. The mask is one of theTwitch Drop rewards being offered for The Game Award 2022, which viewers will be able to receive by watching 60 minutes or more of the event on Twitch. Other rewards apply to other games and include cosmetic items forFall GuysandWarframe, Twitch Emote Follower Forms forCult of the Lamb, and a voucher to redeemRogue Legacyfor free on the Epic Games Store.
With how vague Innersloth’s announcement tease is, it’s safe to say that fans are going to have to wait until the pre-show tomorrow to find out what the developer has in store. That said, past Game Awards have tended to play host to some ofAmong Us’ biggest reveals, so chances are good that this year’s announcement will be a similarly large deal.
It could be anew map is revealed at The Game Awards, or a brand new mode entirely. New content forAmong Us VRis also a likely possibility, especially since that version could stand to receive new maps, being limited to just the original Skeld map at the moment. Fans will soon find out.
