And arguably, many of them have become so popular and well-loved by the player base that it is not surprising for fans to create their own versions of them in real life. Recently, a fan of the life sim made a giant plush of cat villager Punchy and even addedNintendo Amiibo utility and compatibilityto the toy.
SeeingAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplush toys and real-life physical versions of the villagers is not uncommon. Some characters like Tom Nook and Isabelle have already been made into special Build-A-Bear versions, which indicates just how well-known they have become even outside the video games. However, the game’s community is definitely something else, as they still choose to produce original creations and add their own personal twist to theAnimal Crossing: New Horizonstoysthat they make.

To showcase their toy making skills, Michael Karydas, or MichaelKToymaker on Reddit, shared a photo collage of theAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsplush that they made. Using lazy cat villager Punchy as inspiration, the Redditor shared cute tidbits about the large plushie. It stands at 26 inches tall, has magnetic hands plus a bendable tail, and comes with a small orange. However, mostAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsfans will likely be more interested in the fact that the Punchy plush comes with Amiibo compatibility. According to Karydas, theAnimal Crossing: New HorizonsAmiibochip is placed on the plush toy’s feet just so that the magnetic arms will not affect the component. The plush’s owner can simply place the toy’s foot on their Switch, and it will scan Punchy into the actualAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsgame.
Many commenters on the Reddit thread genuinely appreciated the artist’s work as some shared that Punchy is theirfavorite villager in theAnimal Crossingseries. Others also requested that the Redditor make otherACNHvillager plush toys, especially since their work is incredibly detailed and accurate. According to Karydas’ Instagram account, the Punchy plush is commissioned work, so fellowACNHfans can probably reach out to the artist and have him turn their favorite villager into their personal giant plush toy as well.
Karydas seems to have a lot of experience in making giant plush toys for several other pop culture series and games. However, they shared that this is the firstAnimal Crossing: New Horizonstoy they have made in two years. Hopefully they continue to produce and share their work, as the community will likely appreciate seeing such amazing pieces.
