New information regardingAnthemdoesn’t come around all that often. Since giving fans theirfirst look at the upcoming title last year at E3, Bioware and EA have kept most of the details under wraps. Luckily, it appears some of the game’s development team are willing to discuss concerns over how the game is progressing, with one team member making it clear that the PC version of the game will be up to scratch.
In a Bioware question thread on Reddit, Brennon Holmes, Bioware’s Tech engineer forAnthem, answered some questions regarding the game’s development, including about the quality of the PC version of the game. When a user voiced concern that the PC version might be subpar, asking for it not be another “PC port with lousy kbm support and bad PC optimization” Holmes responded, saying, “Let me put it another way then… everyone is constantly developing on the PC platform”

Hopefully, fans will be happy knowing that the team at Bioware is working on a quality version for PC gamers. It’s hard to forget that in the past support for PC gaming paled in comparisons to its console counterparts and gamers were often left with below average ports of popular games. Obviously, PC gaming sees much greater support now than it once did but one only needs to look as far as games likeBatman: Arkham KnightorNo Man’s Skyto see why concerns of a poorAnthemport aren’t unfounded.
Despite still being months away from a release following its delay,Anthemis still one of the most anticipated games in active development. To give an idea of just how anticipated the IP is one only needs to look as far asEA and Bioware’s stock, which took a hit when news broke of the delay.
Of course, all of this still leaves gamers with questions. While we know thatAnthemhas been set for a release in 2019, whether or nor the PC version launches at the same time or later in the year is still up in the air. All we can do is hope that the minds behind the originalMass Effecttrilogy (that’s to say notAndromeda) can deliver something deserving of players time and money, including those on PC.
Anthemis planned to release in early 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
