Ubisoft has finally offered a closer look at the highly-anticipatedAssassin’s Creed Miragethrough a gameplay trailer at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase event. Following its official unveiling last year, the company has kept details about the latestAssassin’s Creedentry under wraps. Now, in its latest reveal trailer, fans got a glimpse of what to expect fromAssassin’s Creed Mirage, particularly with regard to its tone and gameplay.

One of the biggest underlying themes surrounding the upcoming title is the idea that it will be a return to form for theAssassin’s Creedfranchise, reminiscent of its early games. This idea, along with the numerousAssassin’s Creed Miragerumors and leaks, served to build excitement among the fanbase. Fortunately for fans, the latest trailer forAssassin’s Creed Mirageindicates that Ubisoft may be looking to replicate the experience of its pre-RPG era of the franchise.

In the official gameplay trailer, players could see the protagonist Basim navigate a medieval Baghdad, focusing heavily on stealth, parkour, and assassinations. The footage shows a modern take on the classicAssassin’s Creedgames with the tone and gameplay showing a similarity to the likes of Altair and Ezio. Ubisoft also teased some new abilities such as Assassin Focus, which lets Basim mark and assassinate several targets in a row and a new parkour element with the Pole Vault. Further, the developers also announced that the title will release on October 12, confirming previousAssassin’s Creed Miragerelease date rumors.

The teaser comes at a time whenUbisoft is doubling down onAssassin’s Creedfollowing a disappointing 2022where the company reported a notable drop in revenue and net bookings. Incidentally, Ubisoft is looking to expand itsAssassin’s Creeddevelopment time by as much as 40% over the next 12 months. While it seems the company is betting big onAssassin’s Creed, it remains to be seen how this expansion will pan out for the future of the franchise.

Of course,Assassin’s Creed Mirageisn’t the only title in the works for the series. Ubisoft is currently working on multiple entries, one of which takes place in feudal Japan and another that takes place in Central Europe during the 16th century witch trials. The developer is also seemingly working on ahub-based project underAssassin’s Creed Infinity, although Ubisoft hasn’t divulged a lot of information on what to expect. Either way, if the latest gameplay trailer forAssassin’s Creed Mirageis anything to go by, it’s that fans may be in for an interesting future in the world ofAssassin’s Creed.

Assassin’s Creed Miragewill be available on August 05, 2025 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
