Fans are eye-balling every detail in hopes to figure out clues for the game, but the creative director also sat down recently in an interview and answered a few important questions.
Ashraf Ismail is the creative director forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. One of the through-lines for theAssassin’s Creed’s games is the idea that there is a modern-day protagonist that is living out these historic tales of their ancestors. Ismail was asked if this modern-day story was something thatValhallawould continue.

In both Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Layla Hassan is the modern-day protagonist.One of the most important questions forValhallais if Layla’s story will be continuing. Ismail confirmed that not only is the modern-day setting staying put, but Layla will be returning as well.
We do continue the present-day journey, and continue Layla’s journey as well. We have some surprising, unexpected content for our players who love that kind of stuff. But we’ll save that for later down the road. But players can expect some surprising content within that frame.
Ismail pointed out that Ubisoft is working on surprising and unexpected content for players, which is certainly intriguing to hear. Some fans would rather hear that the modern-day aspect is ditched altogether, but perhaps the developer has worked hard at improving some of the modern-day aspects of the game.Valhallahas the opportunity to blaze its own trailin such a unique game setting and with a fresh start.
