However, many of them have been improved upon to make the Penitent One more deadly and evasion easier to attain. On top of this, the design of Blasphemous 2 requires players to unlock every Relic of Contrition to access all the areas available in Custodia. While some Relics of Contrition can be obtained early on in the game, others, like Scion’s Protection, will often come late, close to when players are about to finish the story, which further reinforces the idea that Blasphemous 2 is meant to have a ton of backtracking.
4Ivy of Ascension
The Penitent One Can Hug Walls And Use This In Exploration And Combat
Ivy of Ascensionis the first Relic of Contrition the Penitent One will discover and unlock in the game. Once acquired, this Relic enables the Penitent One to hug specific types of wall surfaces on top of getting the ability to wall jump.
As the first traversal ability, the Ivy of Ascension opens up the game and its many areas for the Penitent One. Some places that weren’t passable previously can now be scaled and explored thanks to this Relic of Contrition. During the latter stages, players need to be keen on their surroundings: checking whether the walls are climbable or not usually means the difference between discovering a secret location and treasure and missing it until they need to backtrack later. Ivy of Ascension is mistakenly regarded as strictly being related to exploration. This is a great tool for platforming and having more hang time to reach some of those tricky cliffs thatcontain secrets and loot. Using Mercy of Wind is essential for crossing blue-chain barriers.
During combat, Mercy of Wind gives the Penitent One another evasion tool against enemies. Players can use Mercy of Wind to avoid being mobbed by enemies and dodging rampaging bosses and their merciless attacks. For those who want to add speed to their traversal, getting this Relic of Contrition is a must. AlthoughBlasphemous 2is considered to be a little easier than the first installment of the franchise, it could also be argued that many of the boss fights present in it are much faster. This makesMercy of Windextremely useful, as it allows the Penitent One to evade incoming attacks much more efficiently, thus making victory a lot more likely.
