Infinity Ward shows off the graphical difference between the originalCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfareand the upcomingCall of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Today, Infinity Ward hosted a livestream where the studiosimultaneously unveiledbothCall of Duty: Infinite WarfareandCall of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The revival of the fan-favoriteCall of Dutytitle hasbeen the subject of many rumorsfor the past week, and fan reception to the confirmation of aModern Warfareremaster has been overwhelmingly positive.

The studio released several screenshots showing thegraphical prowess ofInfinite Warfare, but those looking to take a glimpse through the improved graphics ofModern Warfare Remastereddidn’t have any comparative screenshots to base their expectations off of. Instead, the studio gave a quick glimpse between the old and new iterations of the game via video during its livestream, and we have to say the improvements show how graphics between 2007 and 2016 have grown by leaps and bounds.

Gamers can take a look at the direct graphics comparison below, which takes place just before the 32 minute mark:

The most noticeable difference between the original and the remastered edition is certainly the impact of dynamic lighting, which looks to make the biggest impact on the fan-favorite multiplayer map Wet Work (provided it is trulyone of the 10 multiplayer maps included in game, and not just available for the campaign). The boat-based locale will have players fighting amidst stormy seas, with lightning providing a harsh distraction from the firefight as high waves hammer the freighter. The mission features a dangerous water-based escape, and shouldn’t fail to entertain with improved visuals.

The improvements don’t just end with a new lighting system, either: Activision subsidiary Raven Software (the studio contracted to handle the remaster, while Infinity Ward focuses onInfinite Warfare) boasts improved texture resolution and detail, VFX particles, revamped animation, and improved audio. Players will be able to relive the entire campaign fromModern Warfare, and we can’t wait to replay the sniper mission that takes place in Pripyat with the improved graphics and details.

As was expected, statistics that veteran players have accrued in the original title will not be transferable toModern Warfare Remastered. Everyone who plays the game will start on even footing, which will make the title much more accessible to those who missed out on it nine years ago. Those whohost themselves in the Sony campwill be able to access any potential future downloadable content before anyone else, though, thanks to an exclusivity agreement between Activision and Sony.

What do you think about the graphical improvements, Ranters?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remasteredisonly available bundled withCall of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which will be releasing on November 4th, 2016, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
