A new update is rolling out toCall of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers on all platforms. As far asCall of Duty: Modern Warfareupdates go, it should be fairly well-received by fans of the popular first-person shooter, as it adds a new Gunfight variant and brings back one of the franchise’s most popular game modes.

After downloading theCall of Duty: Modern WarfareJanuary 7 update,Modern Warfarefans have three new multiplayer playlists to partake in. The first is a new 1v1 Gunfight variant. Unlike whenGunfight OSPwas added to the game, 1v1 Gunfight doesn’t replace the standard 2v2 Gunfight mode, so fans can still play regular Gunfight to their heart’s desire.

TheCall of Duty: Modern WarfareJanuary 7 update also brings back Gun Game. Infinity Ward’s decision to remove Gun Game a couple of months ago did not sit well with the game’s community, so it’s somewhat surprising that it took so long for it to come back. Gun Game replaces the Grind playlist, but fans should know that it will only be in the game for a limited time, possibly as little as a week.

TheModern Warfareupdate also replaces the popular Shoot House 24/7 playlist with a Shipment 24/7 playlist. However, instead of 6v6 matches on Shipment, players will instead be competing in 5v5 matches. This could go a long way in makingShipment’s infamous spawn issuesmuch more tolerable, as there will be less players on the map at any given time.

While someModern Warfarefans may missShoot House24/7, overall this playlist update seems like it will be generally well-received by fans of the game. Plus, Shoot House 24/7 is likely to return in future playlist updates, especially if fan reaction to the new Shipment 24/7 playlist is negative.

Fans can expect Infinity Ward to keep updatingCall of Duty: Modern Warfareon a regular basis. The studio has been releasingModern Warfareupdates weekly, adding new playlists, game modes, and more.Modern WarfareSeason Oneis set to conclude at the end of January, so even more substantial updates should be on the way that will add content like new maps. Needless to say,Call of Duty: Modern Warfarefans should have a lot to look forward to in the near future.
