Summary

Shipment, the popularCall of Dutymultiplayer map, has been remade in Ubisoft’s 2018 open world titleFar Cry 5in the stylings of Bethesda’s fantasy RPG masterpieceThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Having been released over a half-decade ago,Far Cry 5earned positive reception as it focused on an American cult set in a fictionalized version of Montana. The game also shipped with an Arcade mode which lets players create their own unique levels and multiplayer modes.

Shipment is famous for beingCall of Duty’s smallest multiplayer map ever. As such, it’s a battleground for the most hectic and chaotic multiplayer matches one can find in a first-person shooter. Consisting mainly of large shipping containers stacked on top of one another, the tiny map features small lanes and cramped corners that players typically light up with as many explosives as possible. Shipment has seen many iterations since its debut in 2007’sCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, appearing in 2019’sModern Warfarereboot,Call of Duty: Vanguard,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and, most recently,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Now, thanks to the creativity of a talented fan,Call of Duty’s Shipment map has unofficially made its way into Ubisoft’sFar Cry 5as well. Reddit user mojoswoptops2020 posted an image of a recreated Shipment map made usingFar Cry 5’s Arcade mode. Even more impressive is that the wooden crates and barrels used to build the map evoke the fantasy feel ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, especially with the wooden wagons, which some commenters under the post used to meme aboutSkyrim’s notorious opening. This isn’t mojoswoptops' first rodeo either, as they’ve doneotherFar Cry 5andSkyrimmashupsin the past.

The layout of thisFar Cry 5Shipment map is nearly perfect with all the barrels and wagons placed precisely where cover is located on the realCall of Dutymap. Mojoswoptops2020 also provided a five-minute walkthrough tour of the map on YouTube, showcasing its impressive beauty in motion. SinceFar Cry 5takes place in rural Montanawith a lot of farmland, it makes sense that the game would have an assortment of wooden crates, barrels, and wagons on offer for use in Arcade mode. Though, coupled with the mountains and the tall pine trees in the background, certain shots of the map also give off a cozyRed Dead Redemption 2feel.

It’s interesting to see players still usingFar Cry 5’s Arcade mode to flex their creativity over five years later. Now that it’s been two years since the launch ofFar Cry 6in 2021, there have been some small rumors swirling about a potential seventh mainline installment of Ubisoft’s open world FPS franchise.IfFar Cry 7is real, it’ll be interesting to know if it’ll mark the return of Arcade mode or something similar. Perhaps Ubisoft may have more to share later this year.
