This week, Bungie launched a new exotic quest inDestiny 2players that set players on a path for theFourth Horseman exotic shotgun. And while the quest is fairly straightforward, players found themselves hindered by a roadblock towards the end of the quest. Specifically, they needed to wait until The Quarry popped up as the Legendary Lost Sector on the rotation.

For manyDestiny 2players, this was a frustrating timegate on a quest that was otherwise simple to complete. And with concerns about Season of the Worthy being short on content, there were plenty ofDestiny 2players who felt like this was done on purpose. As it turns out, the timegate was never intentional and Bungie has fixed the issue.

According to Bungie, a bug within theDestiny 2Legendary Lost Sector rotation kept The Quarry from appearing today. Originally, the quest’s launch and the Legendary Lost Sector were supposed to align so that players could run through all of the steps and claim their Fourth Horseman exotic shotgun. But for some reason The Quarry did not appear.

Rather than wait for The Quarry to pop up in the rotation (likely tomorrow), Bungie has decided to manually activate it as theLegendary Lost Sectorso that players can complete the exotic weapon quest today. This means thatDestiny 2players have tonight and tomorrow morning before reset to claim Fourth Horseman.

Unfortunately, this does mean that those players who don’t complete the Fourth Horseman quest today will have to wait until The Quarry appears as the Legendary Lost Sector in the rotation. Bungie says that The Quarry should rotate into the EDZ Bunker’s mission flag every three days.

Legendary Lost Sectors, for those that might not know, are extra challenging versions of theminiDestiny 2dungeonsthat feature higher power level enemies and Champions. These Legendary Lost Sectors are also 1,000 power level, so make sure to level up before taking on The Quarry.

While Bungie could have easily let the Fourth Horseman quest last an extra day or two, the developer did the right thing and corrected its mistake. More importantly, theDestiny 2developer admitted that there was a bug and issued a fix.

Most players assumed that the quest was time gated and while they were disappointed, this wouldn’t have been the first time that Bungie had done something like that. TheEmpyrean Foundation that was meant to unlock Trials of Osirisin Season of the Worthy took several weeks for players to donate the requisite Fractaline.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
