As if it needed to be said,Destiny 2is one of the mosthighly anticipated releases scheduled to launch this year, and with the science fiction shooter set to drop next month, fans of the franchise are looking to sink their teeth into as much information about the sequel as possible, which certainly includes its ancillary promotional deals. As it so happens, those Guardians who want to learn more about Bungie’s partnership with Pop-Tarts to issue bonus XP through redeemable codes are in luck, as more details involving the marketing campaign have surfaced online.
According to the diligent detective work of the Redditor known as Accelerwraith that can be found in the fine print in the second image further below, the Pop-Tart codes forDestiny 2offers a free 25% XP boost for four hours total with every box of the confectionery treats purchased. As one might expect, however, terms and conditions apply.
The deal only works in the US, with one needing to text “D2XP” to “89332” or email “D2XP” to D2XP@KFR.com in addition to a photo of their receipt with all four corners in plain sight by June 01, 2025 to get an XP boost promo code forDestiny 2. Furthermore, it looks like the promotion ends in March of next year, with the codes needing to be redeemed by August 07, 2025.
When it comes to sending photographic evidence of one’s receipt for the Pop-Tarts bought for theDestiny 2XP boost deal, it looks as if Bungie is trying to avoid the fiasco that occurred with a similar marketing ploy involving the first game’s Red Bull tie-in. To be specific, scammers had used promo codes stolen from cans, causing many legitimate buyers of the energy drinks to not be able to successfully redeem the codes needed to gain access to a timed-exclusive DLC mission.
Of course, depending on the retailer, having to text a photo of one’s receipt with all four corners visible in the image may not be a scalable solution, as there are countless stores nowadays that print out receipts longer than one’s leg. Not to mention, it has yet to be seen as to whether or not multiple purchases of Pop-Tart boxes found on a single sales ticket will officially count toward more than one redeemable code for theDestiny 2promotion. So, at least in these regards, further clarification is needed from Bungie.
Interestingly enough, Pop-Tarts isn’t the only food brand Bungie is teaming up with to promoteDestiny 2. The developer has also announceda partnership with Rockstar Energyto provide fans who buy the drinks with in-game loot and other unique rewards. Taking all of this into consideration, one has to wonder how much weight some Guardians will gain by trying to take full advantage of these grub-related promotions onceDestiny 2hits the store shelves.
Destiny 2releases on August 01, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC launch scheduled for August 11, 2025.
