Summary
Destiny 2players can often find themselves flexing their new flair, but it will be hard to show off to friendly and opposing Fireteams without the use of the rarest emblems inDestiny 2. Emblems are a way forDestiny 2Guardians to show their calling card, a well-designed image next to their name that will show the feats that they have been through over the years as a Guardian protecting the Last City.
However, someDestiny 2emblems are either unobtainable anymore, or so hard to receive that they have been branded as some of the rarest emblems in the game for a reason. Whether it’s for style or curiosity, here are some of the rarest emblems inDestiny 2.

Updated on May 20, 2025, by Jake Fillery:7 years on, Destiny 2 continues to thrill players, engaging them in a plethora of content where players can strive to be better than the rest take on extreme challenges, and engage in events to build a legacy. As part of this legacy, players will find some rare Destiny 2 emblems throughout the game’s lifespan, from PvP, PvE, seasonal activities, and real-life events. Some players might have some of these emblems, whereas other players might never have even known they existed.
16Pre-Order Emblems
Pre-Order Expansions Before They Release
As an incentive to pre-order expansions, Bungie usually provides players with an exclusive emblem. These emblems have been in the game for quite some time, with the latest and potential last, being the pre-order for The Final Shape.
If players do not pre-order these expansions, then once they are released, they will be lost forever. Whilst it’s not the end of the world to lose out on an emblem, it is a good way to spot players that support Bungie andDestiny 2’s expansions before release.

15The Moon Stirs
GuardianCon 2019 & PAX Prime 2019 Exclusive
Only those in the US could have a chance of getting this emblem way back in 2019 when players could head to GuardianCon or PAX Prime and compete inDestiny 2’s Crucible PvP mode to be given a new emblem to wield. Whilst nothing inherently special, it’s still extremely rare.
This is an emblem that not many people will have due to location and event, so if players see someone wielding The Moon Stirs emblem, just know that they are probably an avid PvP enjoyer, so it’s best to be hopeful that they are on the player’s team or prepare for the worst.

14Vermillion Defender
Place Ascendant 3 Division or higher In Ranked PvP, Season 22
Ranked PvP isn’t exactly the most popular mode inDestiny 2. Whilst some players prefer to focus on the plethora of PvE content, from Raids, Nightfalls, and seasonal activities, some still prefer the competitive thrill that comes with The Crucible. As such, players flock to Ranked play to fight against fellow Guardians.
In order to champion over others, players will need to reach high divisions, like Ascendant 3, which proves mastery over other Guardians. Vermillion Defender is the rarest of these ranked emblems, whether that’s because of dwindling interest in Season 22, or purely because Ranked play is a hard ask.

13The Craftening
Play During September 9-21, 2023
Another emblem that players simply won’t be able to find anymore comes from The Craftening. This was an event that took place in early September of 2023, in which players could abuse and break the weapon crafting system in The Enclave. The results were utterly hilarious and entirely powerful, and Bungie allowed players to have fun with it before they patched it out of the game for good.
The glitch event was beloved by players, and people seemed to easily one-phase raid bosses and dungeon bosses solo, as well as wreak havoc in the crucible. Players were crafting shotguns that fired linear fusion rifle shots, machine guns that launched rockets, and all kinds of absurdities for an event dubbed The Craftening.

12Prismatic Inferno
Complete One Crucible Match During Laser Tag Weekend, December 8-12, 2017
One of the most sought-after emblems due to its neon design and cool art,Prismatic Infernois locked behind years past and holds a funny history behind it. Bungie accidentally overpowered thePrometheus Lensto an absurd degree, but instead of instantly nerfing it or hiding the weapon away, they elected to give it to Xur, so all Guardians could embrace the carnage that this weapon could cause.

Players could fight each other in the Crucible to become eligible for this emblem, but since many players might not have been inDestiny 2at the time, or were simply avoiding the unfolding carnage and waiting for it to blow over, this emblem is in the hands of just a few.
11Wish Ascended
Complete The Last Wish Raid Within 24 Hours Of Its Release
The Wish Ascended emblem is perhaps the most infamous of all, due to the fact that it’s a day-one raid emblem where only 12 people in total managed to complete it. The fact that barely 0.01% of the game’s population has this emblem, showcases how hard the mechanics of this raid were to figure out, and that for almost the entire game’s population, the Wish Ascended is locked to 12 dedicated and talented Guardians.
Day One raids are often beloved by the community, as teams fight to become the World’s First. Yet, even completing a new raid in 24 hours is an accomplishment, but for many teams, The Last Wish was just too much to ask for. Even some teams missed out on the 24-hour emblem by just 2 minutes.

10Emblem of Hibiscus
Purchase Any Item From Yuna (Asian Region Servers Only)
The Emblem of Hibiscus is of a design only available to Asian Region Servers. Specifically, this emblem could only be obtained via South Korean internet cafes, in which players could visit an exclusive vendor in the Tower, Yuna from the Mugunghwa Legion.
Yuna sells a variety of goods, and players might not even know about her existence. If players are to purchase anything from her, they will obtain the Emblem of Hibiscus, but it is completely inaccessible to players outside of these Asian Region Servers.

Some Raids Are No Longer In The Game, Meaning There Is No Way To Unlock Their Emblems
Vaulted Raids:
To show the progression and journeys of some Guardians, many players equip past Raid emblems to show their feats. These raids could include the Scourge of the Past Raid or any ofthe Leviathan Raidsand Lairs. This is because these raids are vaulted content, and have been sunset for quite some time now, with no signs of ever returning just yet.
By showing off these vaulted Raid emblems, players can show to others and New Light players, that they have been around for quite some time, proving that they are indeedDestiny 2veteransthat has stuck around for the long haul of the game’s lifespan.

8Artist Of The Week Emblems
Have A Piece Of Artwork Feature In “This Week In Destiny”
If a player is featured on the Bungie Blog or Bungie’s social media channels, they will be rewarded with an Artist of the Week emblem. These intricately designed emblems help to showcase Bungie’s relationship with the community, and their acknowledgment of the talent and hard work that the community puts in when it comes to their love of the game.
It’s hard to obtain an Artist of the Week emblem. Not only due to the talent required to create an artistic piece, but to get it noticed by Bungie. In completion of this, a rare emblem is indeed there for the player, and this reward should be treasured, as barely 1% ofDestiny 2’s player base will have one.

7Guided Games Emblems
Complete A Guided Game Raid Encounter As A Guide
Guided Games is a good way to assist other and less familiar Guardians through Raids that they may find overwhelming, or not have an idea of how to get through and clear with a Fireteam. Through Guided Games, players can receive a ticket to help these players clear through a Raid, guided by experts, sherpas, and those who are patient to see it through to the end.
Many players may completely ignore the idea of Guided Games, especially since they need a clan to embark on this journey with. Players can obtain some unique Guided Games emblems through this activity, but it will certainly require friendship and patience. However, Guided Games is still in its Beta, and since many new players that use this feature are not at the skill level to pass certain encounters, it can be a tedious grind.
