With respect to the specifics of the new content that will become available when that start time arrives,Diablo 4’s Season of Bloodfeatures a new vampire-focused questline and seasonal event. Additionally, the season will introduce five new bosses, which have a chance to drop exclusive Unique and Cosmetic items when slain. Notably, these bosses can only be fought on World Tiers 3 and 4, and fans will need to engage with other actives, such as Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides, to obtain the materials that are used to summon them.

The Season of Blood also introduces 22 Vampiric Powers, buffs that can be activated by fulfilling specific Pact requirements. To fulfill those requirements, players must obtain and equip pieces of Pact Armor, and they can have five Vampiric Powers equipped simultaneously. This system provides further opportunities for customizingbuilds inDiablo 4, and players that want to engage with it are advised to focus their efforts on the Blood Harvest Seasonal Event.

New content is not the only reason to look forward to the Season of Blood, though, as the accompanying patch is set to make some notable changes to established mechanics and systems. That patch isDiablo 4Patch 1.2.0, and it will make adjustments to World Boss spawns, XP, class balance, and much more. While it remains to be seen if those changes will be enough to address the playerbase’s biggest concerns, Patch 1.2.0 does seem to be significant.

Diablo 4is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
