How to Get Runes in Enshrouded
As mentioned, there are different avenues by which players can get their hands on the precious Runes inEnshrouded. The first isthrough combat.By defeating various enemies aroundEmbervale, especiallythose found in the Shroud, players canloot Runes from the fallen. The most common sources are enemies that have weapons embedded in their bodies, so watch out for them when exploring the fog.
Another way is to find Runes inchests and containersfound around the world in buildings, dungeons, or found lying around. There is always the chance to obtain Runes when opening them, but it is not the most efficient way of going about building up a collection.
Lastly, the most efficient way of adding more Runes to your inventory is todismantle your unused equipment. As players progress through the game and get better armor and weapons, be sure to dismantle your old gear to get more Runes. The higher tier an item is, the more Runes players will be able to salvage from the dismantling process.
Using Runes in Enshrouded
With Runes in possession, the next step in your journey tobecoming more powerfulinEnshroudedis to rescue any of the NPCs out in the world, starting with theBlacksmith. Once you have located his resting place and roused him from his slumber, get back to base and summon him using the Summoning Staff.
Talking to any of the NPCs will bring up theircrafting menu, which will include a section onenhancing weapons. When a weapon is selected, this menu will show the costs in Runes necessary to upgrade that weapon to the next level. Obviously, the higher level a weapon, the more damage it can dish out. It is best to have both a strong melee and ranged weapon, so make full use of those Runes wisely.
