Two more games were announced for the upcomingJurassic Park: Classic Games Collection, bringing the classics from the Sega Genesis to the package. TheJurassic Park: Classic Games Collectionalready had some ofthe bestJurassic Parkgamesin it, and it’s only getting better with these additions.
Back in July, Limited Run Games announced the release of acollection of classicJurassic Parkgamesas part of the commemorations for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. At the time, it was revealed thatJurassic Park(NES, Game Boy, and SNES) andJurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues(Game Boy and SNES) would be brought to the collection in remastered forms using Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine.

Now, it was revealed that two Genesis titles will also be a part of the collection:Jurassic ParkandJurassic Park: Rampage Edition. While it may not be obvious due to their names, the Genesis edition of the originalJurassic Parkgame is completely different from the one that was released for the SNES. Instead of having a top-down view and focusing on exploration, the Genesis version is a 2D side scroller with several action segments. TheRampage Editionis a revamped version of the first game developed with a different engine by Sega a year later. The ports of these new classics are a nice addition to the collection, as they were excellentSega Genesis games that needed a modern remake.
All of theseJurassic Parkgames will have several perks, such as improved graphics with higher resolutions, as well as the inclusion of save states, new in-game maps, and quality-of-life tweaks that will make the titles easier to play in 2023. Gamers who are interested in acquiring these games can already pre-order the physical editions, which will be on sale until October 15, costing between $29.99 (Standard Edition) to $174.99 (Prehistoric Edition). The collection will also be available digitally starting on October 22.
This collection is not the only interesting news forJurassic Parkfans this year, though. Back in January, Steven Spielberg announced he wasmaking a documentary about John Williams. Williams is the legendary composer who devised some of the most memorable tunes ofJurassic Park, as well as other franchises such asIndiana JonesandStar Wars. Because of this, the upcoming movie may be interesting for fans of the franchise who want to learn more about the man responsible for creating the soundtrack for some of the most memorable moments of the franchise.
Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collectionwill be available later in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
