Ever since being purchased by Epic Games, it seems likeFall Guyshas featured an increasing number of crossover events. Its latest offering sees the return of the eponymous Sonic of the iconicSonic the Hedgehogseries from SEGA, except this time the blue blur has brought along some friends.
Mediatonic’s wildly popular battle royale titleFall Guysfinally made the jump to becoming free-to-play on June 21. Dropping any cost and launching on virtually all major platforms, the game saw an incredible influx of20 millionFall Guysplayers in its first 48 hours. The launch hasn’t been without its speed bumps, however, with reports of players automatically purchasing items simply by viewing them.

News of the newFall Guyscrossover event, dubbed “Sonic’s Adventure,” comes by way of a new trailer. The minute-long video opens up with a shot of a Sonic-costumed bean running in the hedgehog’s signature style, before shortly being joined by Tails. The pair collect rings until Sonic is interrupted by Knuckles, who are in turn interrupted by a Super Sonic bean. The last bean revealed is one of Dr. Eggman, complete with goggles, mustache and all. The final moments show highlights of the all-newSonic the Hedgehog-themed course.
The reveal of the “Sonic’s Adventure” event confirms the numerous leaks andrumors of a Sonic-themedFall Guyslevel. Humorously titled Bean Hill Zone, the level contains all the trappings of a classicSonic the Hedgehogtitle: red bumpers, rings, boosters, loops, and even the checkered surface pattern. Bean Hill Zone’s objective is to collect as many rings as possible to avoid elimination, with the crossover event offering a variety of rewards. These include a Sonic Nameplate, Sonic Pattern, and even Sonic Sneakers, along with hundreds of Kudos.
Fall Guysplayers will fittingly need to go fast, as the Sonic’s Adventure event only runs from August 11 - 15. While theSonic the Hedgehogcrossover event is sure to be a hit with players, it supposedly isn’t the only iconic video game character to be making a return to the game. According to a dedicated leaks account, theDoom Slayer ofDOOMis descending uponFall Guysonce again. While unclear if any additional cosmetics or courses will come with it, it may follow suit with Sonic’s return.
Players hoping to unlock the various Sonic and company cosmetics will need to accrue hundreds of points in just a few short days. Those looking for a much more easily attainable cangetFall Guys' Grandis skin, which is a very tall, color-changing bean outfit.
