Publisher and developer Bethesda Game Studios officially announces its construction and management simulation mobile game,Fallout Shelter, comes to Xbox One next week.
As many gaming fans will likely recall, the launch ofFallout Shelterfor mobile devices back in 2015 netted Bethesda quite the sizable bounty when it comes to profits, as the companyearned $5.1 million in its first two weekswhen it became available for iOS in the App Store, and the firm went on to receive even more money and notoriety from the free-to-play game once it eventuallyreleased on Android. Now, Bethesda is looking to expand the construction and management simulation game into the console market, as the publisher and developer have officially announced thatFallout Shelterwill launch on Xbox One next week.
As revealed in anXbox Wire post, Bethesda intends on releasingFallout Shelterfor Xbox One and Windows 10 through the Xbox Store or Windows Store next Tuesday, February 7. According to information listed on Xbox Wire, the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions ofFallout SheltersupportXbox Play Anywhere, which lets players carry their progress and Achievements in between the two platforms.

While the imminent launch ofFallout Shelteron Xbox One and Windows 10 is definitely exciting to Microsoft fans who game primarily on those platforms, Bethesda didn’t give any further details about how the game will play on either. For instance, although the Xbox Wire post notesFallout Shelterhas been “adapted” for Xbox One controller compatibility, there weren’t any additional specifics as to how it will operate.
For those unaware,Fallout Sheltercoming to Windows 10 doesn’t mark the first time that the construction and management simulation game has become playable on the PC. As a matter of fact, followingFallout Shelter’s initial launch in 2015 as a supplementary product meant to further promote the launch of the post-apocalyptic RPGFallout 4,PC players received the game last July, along with all of the title’s downloads released around then.
Speaking of downloadable content inFallout Shelter, since all of the other platforms for the game have been given updates like the addition of Dogmeat and cats, or the inclusion ofNuka World characters, it stands to reason that the Xbox One version of the title will be brought up-to-speed with the mobile and PC iterations. Taking all of this into consideration, should the first console port ofFallout Shelterto Xbox One end up being a successful venture for Bethesda, it will be interesting to see if the game goes on to get a PlayStation 4 release as well.
Fallout Shelteris available now for Android and iOS devices, PC, and will launch for Xbox One on July 19, 2025.
