During this month’sFinal Fantasy 14Live Producer’s Letter, Naoki Yoshida revealed the PC specifications for the upcoming Stormblood expansion as well as several smaller gameplay details. In tandem with the Producer’s Letter, a new extended trailer was also released capturing what’s shown during the newly releasedFinal Fantasy 14: Stormbloodbenchmark. With less thantwo months until the June 20 launch, fans can see howStormbloodis coming together.
Both minimum and recommendedPC specifications were provided forFinal Fantasy 14: Stormblood. Note that the minimum requirements \are based on DirectX 9 systems, whereas the recommended are based on DirectX 11: (Format: Minimum / Recommended)

Regarding the console release ofFinal Fantasy 14: Stormblood, recall that thePlayStation 3 version of the MMO will be discontinuedwith the expansion’s release. A free upgrade to PlayStation 4 will be available to PlayStation 3 players, so long as they own the game and the console. In turn,Stormbloodwill also mark the start of support for the PlayStation 4 Pro, including options for better framerates.
DedicatedFinal Fantasy 14players may find the gameplay details revealed in today’s Producer’s Letter much more interesting. As far as the gameplay is concerned,Stormbloodwillfunction likeHeavenswardin many regards, such as requiring Aether Currents to Fly, The Bend of Time - Omega raid opening 2 weeks after launch, and pages being required for raid loot. Then of course there’s plenty of miscellaneous details that fans are excited about, like more than 20 new minions being added and two new hairstyles.
The Square Enix team working onFinal Fantasy 14: Stormbloodis doing their best to get everything up and running for launch. Players should already be able to see the work going into the expansion inThe Far Edge of Fate story patch. And of course, the pieces will all start to come together as time ticks closer to the expansion’s launch. Let’s hope that Naoki Yoshida is able to fit one more Live Letter in between now and launch.
