As demonstrated in the first gameplay video,Fire Emblem Engage’s protagonistAlear equips himself with the Marth ring, where he then become more adept at using swords. Moreover, it also raises Alear’s stats, with Marth’s ring providing a boost in evasion. The video also shows that while Alear is Level 4 on his own, when utilizing the Marth ring, it boosts his Level from 4 to 6. This likely means that the characters will have an individual level and a combined level.

During battle, Marth will float alongside the equipped character much like theMirages fromTokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. Marth even performs his Forward-Smash attack from theSuper Smash Bros.series whenever he attacks alongside the character he’s equipped to. Another brief gameplay video shows Marth talking with Alear, confirming that franchise’s support conversation mechanic which has been featured in many of the recent entries will be included.

According to the conversation between Marth and Alear, Marth has always been watching over the latter and has been at their side. Marth has even been watching over them while they slept for a thousand years. Alear responds that he is glad to have the Hero-King by his side, and that he wants him to lend his strength for the battles ahead. It is likely there will be more support conversations like this between the other heroes and Emblems inFire Emblem Engage.
