The latest preview video fromFire Emblem Engagefocuses on another set of returning characters from the franchise, Eirika and Ephraim, the twin sibling lords fromFire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. These two will be making an appearance as one of the game’s many Emblems: special rings that house the souls ofpastFire Emblemprotagonistswhere they can grant immense boons to the player’s army. These Emblems have a unique benefit depending on the returning protagonist, which usually reflects the game they hail from.
The officialFire Emblem EngageTwitter account has been sharing plenty of details about the game, along with the mechanics and characters featured. A video posted to the account (that was translated by SatsumaFS) focuses on howSacred Stonesprotagonists Eirika and Ephraim will function in-game. This is known as the Emblem of the Sacred, where it has the distinction of being one of the few rings that have two souls in it, where they can switch places to provide completely different benefits.

The video demonstrates their unique Synchro Skills, with Eirika’s being Lunar Brace and Ephraim’s being Solar Brace. The former will allow the player to deal more damage depending on how high the enemy’s Def stat is, while the latter will restore HP to the player’s unit based on the amount of damage dealt. If a player Engages withEirika’s Emblem, they will be granted her Engage weapon, the Rapier. It can deal greater damage to both Cavalry and Armored enemy units.
As forEirika’s Engage Skill, Sacred Twins, it combines both Synchro Skills into the Solar-Lunar Brace. This allows players to both restore some HP and deal extra damage while attacking, which is helpful for keeping a unit alive in battle and getting rid of more troublesome foes. The last thing highlighted in this preview video is Eirika’s Engage Technique: Twin Strike. This causes the unit to attack with both a sword and lance, with Ephraim using his lance to help out. This can cause Breaks to happen more often, along with dealing great damage to Aberrant enemies. The damage is also increased if used against Cavalry units.
Eirika and Ephraim’s Emblem is quite unique as it inhabits two souls instead of just one like the other rings. Considering both characters are integral to the plot ofSacred Stonesand the narrative is designed around the two, it’s fitting both siblings share an Emblem. The only other ring that has this distinction is the ring containing the souls of Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude fromFire Emblem: Three Houses, which will be a part ofFire Emblem Engage’s first paid DLC pass.
Fire Emblem Engageis coming to Nintendo Switch on July 01, 2025.
