The next round of free games for Xbox Live Gold members in March 2017 have been announced, and the list includes co-op shooterEvolveandBorderlands 2.
March is just around the corner, and with it comes more free games for Xbox Live Gold members. Microsoft has just announced the next lineup of free games that will be available to download as soon as next week.
For Xbox One owners, the month will kick off withLayers of Fear,a psychological gothic horrorgame thatwas well-receivedby critics. It will be available from March 1st to the 31st.
Later in the month, the co-op monster hunting gameEvolvecan be downloaded for free starting March 16th to April 15th. The title was developed by Turtle Rock, the people behindLeft 4 Dead,which helped give it a good amount of credibility when it launched. However, it was met with mixed reviews and a fair bit of controversy that inevitably led to its dwindling player base. Unfortunately, the game itself is pretty much at an end in terms of ongoing development. Turtle Rock has officiallyended support for the title,but the studio has announced it currently has anew co-op FPS in the works.
On Xbox 360, the first title on the schedule isBorderlands 2,which will be ready to download from March 1st to the 15th. While it’s a bit of an older game, having released nearly four years ago, it’s also one of the most beloved from the last generation of consoles. Its iconic cell-shaded visual style, comical tone and addictive gameplay makes the franchise a favorite. Afollowup game was teasedby developer Gearbox Software almost a year ago, but not much has been heard about it since.
Closing out the month isHeavy Weapon,a side-scrolling action shooter where players take the role of an atomic tank and blast their way through several stages. Gold members can check it out from March 16th until the 31st.
