Elden Ringmay offer a vast lineup of bosses to battle, but for those seeking an even greater challenge, the game’s PvP options are worth engaging with. However, it seems like oneElden Ringplayer was not experienced with their weapon of choice, as a funny clip makes it look like they kill themselves with their own blade.

Considering how many gamers have been partaking inElden Ring’s PvP, it is no surprise that some interesting clips have been posted online. Players have transformed into props to lure multiple opponents into a trap, disguised themselves as basic enemies from the Lands Between, and replicated the looks and move sets of bosses like the Godskin Duo. However, the latest bit of footage seems to showcase a funny, fatal accident.

Instead of a willful death likeElden Ring’s jump with me trust exercise, this bit of self harm looks entirely accidental. In the clip posted by Reddit user ValbuenaSaxTape, players witness what looks to be a typical PvP battle. The intense fight sees both players dodging and poking, trying to sneak in some hits without falling victim to their opponent’s strongest abilities. The player that the Reddit user was fighting seemed to rely heavily on a spin attack, though, which saw them swinging their weapon around their body.

As reflected by the opposingElden Ringplayer’s health bar, they are about one hit away from death, meaning that even the slightest mistake would cause them to be killed. Based on the footage, it looks like this mistake came in the form of a poorly executed spin. Right as the enemy player activates their special attack, they randomly die, making it look like they stabbed themselves by mistake. This joke is expanded upon by the Redditor who recorded the clip, as they suggest that their foe forgot to read their weapon’s manual for tips on how to use it.

In reality, lag was likely the cause of death. A few seconds before this spin was initiated, the enemy player barely dodged a stab from ValbuenaSaxTape. Though it looks like the hit did not connect, some server lag likely led to the hit registering a few seconds later. In the comments section, players provided some more theories, joking that the other player pulled out their back or stepped on a LEGO. The best suggestion came from maltamur, who joked that the enemy Tarnished hadLumbago like Uncle fromRed Dead Redemption 2.

While lag was what really killed the enemy player, it truly does look like they defeated themselves with a misused Ash of War. WithElden RingDLC leakedand the main game continuing to perform well, many more funny PvP moments will likely be shared in the months to come.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
