The graphics settings and menus for the PC version of The Coalition’sGears of War 4show up online, revealing tons of options in the way of customization.
For those unaware, Microsoft and The Coalition recently unveiled4K gameplay video footage and PC specsfor the forthcoming third-person shooterGears of War 4at gamescom 2016, and the companies also had a playable demo at the event in Cologne, Germany. This allowedHomeCinéma-FR.comto capture the title’s PC graphics settings, menus, and configurations, which boast a bevy of options for fans looking forward to customizingGears of War 4in order to make it look just the way they want.
As seen in the video below, the options are incredibly wide-ranging, with some major settings forGears of War 4having their own separate sub-menus. For example, the texture quality menu has individual sliders for world textures, character textures, vehicle textures, and much more. Furthermore, there’s also an option to set a render resolution and a display resolution, for those into having control over supersampling. Naturally, texture filtering, motion blur, and an option to turn on an in-game performance graph are available as well, all of which add credence to The Coalition’s previous announcement thatGears of War 4will be extremely configurable on PC, thus enhancing the experience of the title’sgraphical improvements.
While some may consider all of these configuration choices forGears of War 4’s PC version to be overkill, it’s safe to say that simply giving players on the platform the option to manipulate the visuals will undoubtedly go a long way in pleasing them. Additionally, with Microsoft and The Coalition heavily promoting the game’s ability to havemultiplayer crossplay between PC and Xbox One, all of these options for graphical settings and more have the potential to drive sales toward the computer version of the game, which would further justify the platform crossplay feature.
BeyondGears of War 4’s PC settings, it seems as if Microsoft and The Coalition have planned to satisfy newcomers and long-time fans of the franchise alike with other fresh features such asonly requiring Horde Mode maps to be owned by the host, which allows players who don’t have them a chance to try the areas out beforehand. Moreover, with the original trilogy’s protagonist Marcus Fenix returning to fight side-by-side with his son J.D., the story ought to explore some interesting father and son dynamics while also touching on both the plot’s past and present to deliver an enriching narrative.
Taking all of this into consideration, it’s no wonder whyGears of War 4is being thought of by many as one ofthe most anticipated video games of 2016. So, with that being the case, one can only hope that The Coalition is able to do the series justice onceGears of War 4officially releases later this fall for PC and Xbox One.
