A new update shared by prominentGenshin Impactleaker Tao via leaker Uncle SH has revealed thatLiyue will be receiving a new expansion soon. The leak seemingly confirms the heavily rumored Chenyu Vale has a “high possibility” of being added toGenshin Impactwith the Version 4.4 update, after being previously rumored. Chenyu Vale was once thought to be the location whereplayers would enter Fontaine, before the entrance was revealed to be in the Sumeru desert.Genshin Impact’s Version 4.4 update is currently expected to release in December 2023.

The rumored addition of Chenyu Vale is far from the only expansion ofGenshin Impact’s older regions rumored to be coming to the game.Mondstadt has seen long-lasting rumors about expansionsto the RPG’s first region, with locations like Dornman Port and the Dandelion Sea teased by leaks and rumors. Several new characters are also rumored to be planned for the playable roster from previous regions, including Mondstadt’s Grand Master Varka and Liyue adeptus Cloud Retainer among others.

Liyue’s rumored expansion in Version 4.4 would look to come amidst several expected additions to Fontaine throughout the new region’s cycle.Fontaine is rumored to have three major expansionsplanned during its cycle, with the first coming as early as Version 4.1 adding the Fortress of Meropide.
