There are 12treasuremaps scattered throughout the world ofGod of War, each one leading to a hidden cache of useful items. Finding all of these treasures is far from straightforward, however, as players will need to decipher a series of cryptic clues in order to figure out where exactly the treasure is buried. Of course, they’ll also need to find the maps themselves, which is also a lot easier said than done.

Dead and Bloated is one of the twelve available treasure maps and can be found in the Volunder Mines while carrying out a favor for Brok. It was written by a person who sought revenge on a troll that killed their family and mentions that the treasure is buried on a beach near the beast’s rotting corpse. This isn’t all that much to go on though, so some players may need a helping hand figuring out how to find the Dead and Bloated treasure inGod of War.
As mentioned above, players can find the Dead and Bloated treasure map in the Volunder Mines, whichKratoswill visit as part of Brok’s “Second Hand Soul” side quest. It’s on the ground near a large wooden wheel and a coffin in an area where players fight two Nightmares. This area can be found around the time when Kratos needs to destroy some runes in order to progress and is accessed by following one of the outer walls around to the right and then dropping down.

The troll who killed my kin is slain, but the battle has taken its toll. I’ve buried whatever I have left near his corpse. Ingrid and I used to frequent this beach to watch the sun rise over the temple.
As the clue suggests, the Dead and Bloated treasure can be found on a beach near the corpse of a troll. The part about watching the sun rise over the temple is actually a little misleading, however, as that would suggest that the treasure is buried to the west ofTyr’s Temple, which isn’t actually the case. Instead, players should make their way to the Cliffs of the Raven, which is accessed via the southeastern shore of the Lake of Nine.

Upon their arrival, players should make their way to the beach at the back of the island andlook for the troll’s corpse. It’s pretty big, so they really shouldn’t have too much trouble finding it. Once they do, they shouldlook for a small mound of dirt near the troll’s right armand thenpress the appropriate buttonwhen prompted in order todig up the treasure.
Finding the Dead and Bloated treasure will reward players withan Oblivion Stone,5 pieces of Soft Svartalfheim Steel, anda Rare Enchantment. They’ll receive a healthy supply of Hacksilver too, which can be used tocraft and upgrade armorand accessories for Kratos. If players have already found the other eleven treasures, they’ll also unlock the “Treasure Hunter” trophy/achievement at this time.
