DC FanDome 2020 is still echoing in our thoughts because of what was announced. AThe Batmantrailer,Suicide Squadgame, andGotham Knights, were some of the event’s highlights. Already we are scratching our heads, trying to figure out whatGotham Knightsmight entail. It looks like developer WB Games Montréal is looking to delve intoBatman’s expanded universeby excluding him entirely.

It’s still early, but Batman might not appear inGotham Knights. It takes place in a universe where Batman is dead, but there are ways to return. By using the Lazarus Pit or through flashbacks, Batman could appear inGotham Knights. With Batman absent, and the city overrun by crime and corruption, which villains will be wreaking havoc? Here are ten villains we want to see inGotham Knights.

10Catwoman

Batman may not don the cowl in the upcomingGotham Knights, but his former adversary turned paramour could show up. Catwoman, also known as Selina Kyle, was involved in a string of jewelry heists before falling in love with Batman—she’s even played the anti-heroine. She’d be an excellent addition toGotham Knights, whether she appears as a heroine or a villain. The trailer didn’t mention Catwoman, but it’s safe to say that nothing’s off the table at this point.

9Two-Face

This Batman villain is recognized for his dual personality, with which he struggles tobalance good and evil.Gotham Knightswould benefit from having Two-Face.He appeared inBatman: Arkham City, but his part was minor unless you played DLCs.

Two-Face’s origin story varies from comic book to comic book, but his resulting appearance is mostly the same. Whether you prefer the story of him getting acid thrown at him or where he was set on fire, Two-Face is assuredly mentally unstable.

8Deathstroke

Gotham Knightsintroduced a variety of protagonists, which is why the possibility for lesser-known villains is strong. Those who don’t venture into Batman’s expanded universe might not have heard of Deathstroke. He first appeared inTeen Titansas the deadliest assassin in DC Comics. This supervillain is capable of taking on the entire Justice League single-handedly. His superhuman abilities make him stand out from other Batman villains.

7Riddler

This enigmatic villain from Batman is bound to be a part ofGotham Knightsif it has a detective component. At the moment, we are in the dark about most ofGotham Knights' details. The Riddler, also known as Edward Nygma, speaks in riddles. His integral part in theBatman: Arkhamseriesmade him a central character. What happened to the Riddler’s riddles? There were a whopping 243 of them to solve inBatman: Arkham Knight.

6Poison Ivy

InBatman: The Animated Series, Poison Ivy is a close friend, and maybe more, of Harley Quinn. As the occasional Birds of Prey member, she has an uncanny ability to communicate with plant life.

Because Poison Ivy forms alliances withmany of the other Batman villains, she is considered one of his most dangerous foes. Her powers include toxic immunity, toxikinesis, pheromone control, and chlorokinesis. Poison Ivy’s part might have been overblown inBatman: Arkham Knight, yet we wouldn’t mind seeing her inGotham Knights.

5Scarecrow

This is a villain whose creation was inspired by Ichabod Crane fromThe Legend of Sleepy Hollow.Created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane, Scarecrow is one of our favorite characters in the DC Universe. Someone as dangerous as Scarecrow should be left for Batman, but at leastGotham Knightswill contain Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood, who collectively could defeat this maniacal villain.

4Bane

Also known as the “the man who broke the Bat,” Bane was once an ordinary child forced into a prison to serve his father’s life sentence. His grim tale develops when he is injected with a drug called “Venom.”

Bane would be a strong candidate to appear inGotham Knights. His superhuman strength makes him theideal choice for a boss fight.Likely, Bane is already a boss, and we’ll team up in co-op to defeat him.

3Joker

It was once rumored that the upcomingGotham Knightswould ignore previous plot points and include Joker. As one of Batman’s oldest and most crazed villains,Joker should have a part inGotham Knights. He could appear as an illusory character as he did inBatman: Arkham Knight,or a full-blown character who is back from the dead. He’s not someone who can be reasoned with; “some men just want to watch the world burn.”

2The Court Of Owls

We can take comfort in the direction that WB Games Montréal is taking withGotham Knightsnow that the Court of Owls has appeared. The Court of Owls consists of some of Batman’s newest and most deadly foes. Thinking about Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood attempting to defeat the Talons is nerve-wracking. Talons are members of the Court of Owls, who enforce their corrupt agenda. They strive to be the most prominent members of Gotham City, instead of Batman.

1Mr. Freeze

It’s very peculiar that developer WB Games Montréal decided to reveal Mr. Freeze. Undoubtedly, Mr. Freeze and his attacks were appropriate for showcasing the pre-alpha game build ofGotham Knights. From what we’ve gathered, Mr. Freeze is manipulating Gotham City’s weather to push his agenda.

The fact that we can face bosses like Mr. Freeze solo orin co-op means that we’re comfortable with this game’s direction. It was also mentioned thatMr. Freeze’s difficultywill change based on your level in the game. These are significant changes since theBatman: Arkhamseries, so there’s no telling what else WB Games Montréal has in store.
