It is entirely possible for aHalofan to be partly confused by the plot of the franchise sinceHalo 4. One moment, Master Chief is being hunted by another team of Spartans, and the next he is on a semi-open-world adventure around Zeta Halo inHalo Infinite. Some fans may be especially confused by the story ofHalo Infinite, which has a gap before the game begins and Master Chief is revived. Some things likewhere Captain Locke is during the story ofHalo Infiniteare also left completely unanswered.Hopefully, a few of the questions about the time leading up to the main narrative ofHalo Infinitewill be answered next month when a new novel,Halo: The Rubicon Protocol, gets released. This prequel will go into the events that happened six months before the player’s journey begins inHalo Infinite, detailing occurrences in the universe and how Master Chief returns to the franchise. Written by Kelly Gay, who has created variousHaloworks before, many fans seem content that the story will be in good hands.RELATED:Halo Veteran Developer Joins 343 Industries to Work on Halo InfiniteHowever, something that some people aren’t happy with is howHalo’sTwitter account announced the upcoming novel. There is a great tease for the book, as the tweet says that fans can “witness the devastating Banished ambush at Zeta Halo” when the novel drops on August 9. What isn’t stated is that the novel is in fact a book, which has angered some fans who initially believed thatHalo InfiniteDLCwas on the way. Rumors of an upcomingHalo InfiniteDLC have been around for some time, especially following 343 Industries trademarkingHalo: The Endlessback in December 2021.

There have also been leaks regarding a possible single-player orcampaign DLC forHalo Infinite, but leakers have stated that if such plans are being put in place, it will be a long time before fans can continue Master Chief’s story. Plenty ofHalo Infiniteplayers are already unhappy with the latest entry in the game, as they believe there are still vital issues that need to be solved, especially where multiplayer is concerned.

343 Industries has been working to improveHalo Infinitesince its rocky launch. Multiple bug fixes have been made for multiplayer, and while desync issues are still at large, the developers are reportedly working to deal with those problems too. In terms of extra campaign content, aco-op story mode is coming toHalo Infinite, but again many fans aren’t too happy because they believe that this feature should’ve been implemented into the game since day one.
