As the year progresses, more information is starting to surface regardingHalo Infinite. After keeping fans largely in the dark for years, 343 Industries is providing much more involved and active feedback aboutHalo Infinite’s development. Though, it seems that a fan favorite creature will not be making a return in this game.

One of the major, albeit oftentimes underappreciated, strengths of theHaloseries is the various flora and fauna that’s presented throughoutHalo’suniverse. There is obviously theCovenant and the various speciesthat the group includes, but there’s also a fan favorite species of wildlife that appears on the planet Reach called Moa. Although, it appears that despite what has been alluded to already, the Moas will not be making an appearance inHalo Infinite.

Recently,HaloInfinite-themed Pringlesmade their way into circulation, with the flavor being that of Moa Burgers. This made fans assume that Moas would be making an appearance in the game, with one Twitter user even asking for Moa-themed plushies. However, John Junyszek, the community manager at 343 Industries, replied to the tweet saying that players most likely won’t encounter Moas in the game.

Junyszek’s reasoning being that the Moas are native to Reach and were only ever featured inHalo Reach. He mentioned that players “probably” won’t encounter any Moas, but considering thatHalo Infinitetakes place several years afterHalo Reach, it seems unlikely that any Moas would have been transported to Zeta Halo. Even so, if that were the case, there could certainly be an interesting storyline reason for the presence of Moas on Zeta Halo.

In any case, it’s nice to see how forthcoming the studio is being aboutHalo Infinite.Halo Infinitewas announced during E3 2018, but it wasn’t until 2020 that fans got a substantial look at the game, outside of the cinematic trailer that was shown during E3 2018. Since the gameplay reveal, fans have been getting consistent updates about the game’s development.

It’s clear that343 Industrieswants to get this game right. Following the underwhelming reception ofHalo 5and based on everything that has been shown of the game so far, the development studio is being quite ambitious forHalo Infinite. However, the game is still without a release date, and barring the gameplay footage shown last year, there hasn’t been much else in terms of official gameplay. Hopefully, in the coming months, fans will have a much better idea of what to expect.
