What Are Snidgets In Harry Potter?

Before theGolden Snitchtook center stage as the coveted prize in Quidditch, the magical sport’s focus was on capturing a fascinating and elusive creature called the Golden Snidget. These rather small, shimmering birds possess wings with the remarkable ability to rotate a full 360 degrees, allowing them to fly in any direction. Snidgets are completely round, covered in golden feathers, and have a long, slender beak with very tiny legs. Its eyes shone bright red, and thanks to its wings, it could zip around with incredible agility and speed in any direction.

Why Snidgets Were on The Brink Of Extinction

However, as the popularity of Quidditch soared, there arose protests from those with tender hearts who decried the barbaric treatment of these birds. Despite the compassionate objections, the tradition of using Snidgets in the sport persisted, leading to a tragic decline in their numbers. They were on the brink of extinction, and their preservation became a pressing concern. In response, Elfrida Clagg, the former Chief of the Wizards' Council, recognized the need for their protection, leading to the eventual classification of the Golden Snidget as an endangered species. To replace these cherished creatures, the now-legendary Golden Snitch was introduced to Quidditch, incorporating the magical qualities of the Snidget without endangering its existence. InHogwarts Legacy, players have the chance to see the fragile birds up close and personal.

Saving Harry Potter’s Snidgets

In the magical world ofHogwarts Legacy, there’s quite the enigma surrounding the Golden Snidgets. Many believe they’ve vanished from existence. In the quest, “A Bird in The Hand,” players assist Poppy, who forms an alliance with the wise centaur Dorran to embark on a mission to locate and safeguard these elusive creatures. Poppy’s suspicion leads her to believe that the extremely rare Golden Snigets might be concealed within a mysterious sanctuary, prompting an investigation. Along the way, players must battle plentiful poachers who launch a surprise ambush.

These rare Golden Snidgets truly hold a significant place in the history of theHarry Potteruniverse, as their presence paved the way for the evolution of the beloved wizarding sport, Quidditch. It is rather fitting that they appear once again inHogwarts Legacy, as their return highlights the enduring peril faced by these beautiful yet fragile birds.
