What many would otherwise view as a rather boring task will now be rewarded handsomely. Recently released patch notes for the version 1.31 update hittingThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildreveal that a Nintendo Switch news channel dedicated to the game will launch tomorrow. The channel known as Tips from the Wild will gift players items simply for reading.
These items vary depending on the types of articles released in the Tips from the Wild feed, which will reportedly include marketing updates, announcements, in-game updates, and trailers. Nintendo didn’t explicitly state what sort of items players can obtain through the articles, though they will likely include bundles ofKorok seedsand new costume pieces for Link. The company did, however, note that certain objects may not be accessible depending on game progress and location.
Nintendo explained, “In-game items can now be obtained from launching the software from certain articles distributed through a new News channel (‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild- Tips from the Wild’) which can be accessed through News on the Home menu. This channel is expected to open on June 17, 2025. Depending on your game progress and location, certain items may not be obtainable.”
Also included in theBreath of the Wild1.31 update are several tweaks that improve gameplay and a fix that clears away the issue with one of the game’s content packs. TheMaster Trials DLCin theBreath of the WildExpansion Pass originally featured a glitch in which players defeating certain enemies for Kilton wasn’t counted toward completion in Master Mode.
These in-game items haven’t been named, and data-miners haven’t uncovered any new content inBreath of the Wild’s files in quite some time, but the good news is that players won’t have to wait long to find out. Nintendo may have tucked away never-before-seen artifacts in the game, or perhaps the game will hand over useful materials like diamonds, potions, elixirs, oringredients for recipes. Regardless of specifics, the opportunity for incentive is there. Players simply have to take it.
