InLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, it can be hard to tell what’s larger: Ichiban’s hair or his personality. Just like in its predecessor,Infinite Wealthactually ties the many facets of Ichiban’s personality to gameplay.
By increasing Personality stats inInfinite Wealth, Ichiban will improve at many aspects of the game both in and out of combat. The Personality system inInfinite Wealthisn’t too complicated, but learning how it can benefit you – and how traits can be improved – is key to getting better at the game and unlocking a lot of its content.

Infinite Wealth Personality System, Explained
InLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the Personality system is tied specifically to Kasuga, one of the game’s two main protagonists. Six traits make up his Personality:Passion, Confidence, Charisma, Kindness, Intellect, and Style. Each of these traits grants a variety of bonuses to Kasuga in and out of combat.
Leveling up Passion, for example, increases Ichiban’s resistance to the Sleep status effect, and improves his Hero Job exclusive ability Hero’s Encouragement. Each of the other five Personality stats are tied to another Hero ability and a status effect resistance, too.

Personality stats aren’t just used for combat benefits like these. Sometimes, there will beobstacles in Ichiban and the gang’s waythat can only be overcome with a high enough Personality trait. For example, Kasuga can’t exactly get past a band of intimidating thugs if he doesn’t have enough Confidence to do so. Similarly, people may not want to associate with him unless he is Kind or Charismatic enough, while a high Intellect can impress fellow intellectual-types.
How To Improve Personality Stats
There are a few ways to improve Personality trait stats. The easiest way is to take exams at the Ounabara Vocational School, whichunlocks relatively deep into the game. The second-easiest way, but the more accessible way, is to simply make the right choices in dialogues to trigger a Personality Boost. During many dialogues in main and substories, Ichiban has a chance to tailor his response. Depending on what you answer, a Personality trait related to the tone of that answer might improve.
Aside from dialogue choices and taking exams, Personality trait improvements can also come from performingspecific moves (and maneuvers) in combat, and from interacting with the world as one naturally would. Personality improvements can come from playing minigames, talking to party members (and new Friends), unlocking Jobs and finding items, and much more. The only way to really target specific Personality traits is to take Exams, though.
