Maquetteis a beautiful game with a unique premise and a surprisingly touching story, but it’s also an opportunity to get a quick and easy platinum trophy to add to the to the trophy case. On a first playthrough of the game, players should focus on just figuring out how to solve the puzzles and enjoying the narrative, as it’s short enough to where a second playthrough for trophy hunting makes sense. What’s more, some of thespeedrun oriented trophieswill require players to already have an understanding of how to solve all the puzzles.

Maquette’s puzzles revolve around a recursive world, that is it continues to repeat based on other iterations of itself. If players pick up a small object and place it inside the small dome in the center of the level, it will appear in the normal sized version of the level much bigger. Beyond that, there’s also a scaled up version of the world outside the walls of the dome world players are in, and this presumably goes on forever with infinite worlds getting infinitely smaller and larger.

In total, there are 23 trophies to be found withinMaquette, and they fall within one of three categories. Completion trophies are earned simply by progressing through the story, so players will knock out at least eight of these 23 trophies in their first playthrough. Beyond that, there are seven speedrun trophies, one for each of the game’s chapters that requires players to beat them in a certain amount of time. Finally, the other seven trophies require players to do special tasks within the various levels of the game. To make this easier, it is highly recommended to create a different save file at the start of each chapter, asMaquettehas no chapter selectfeature.

After beating the game and receiving the eight completion trophies, play through each chapter ofMaquetteagainto get the speedrun trophies. The times allotted for each trophy don’t require any kind of glitches or skips, so players can get them all as long as they are fast. A few of the special task trophies are easy enough as well and players probably already have some, including open a door, rotate an object, and resize an object to solve a puzzle. That leaves just four special trophies to hunt down at this point.

In the first chapter, titled The Maquette, players can get the Breakout trophy by upscaling the key and placing it on a wall. They can then walk up the key and jump out of the level into the larger world. Next, players can get the Crew Creatures trophy in chapter three, titled The Wedge. Progress through the level as normal, but at the very end after obtaining the gear and jumping out into the larger world, head back to the light blue house. Walk through using the crack in the wall and enter the dog house. An adorable surprise awaits within.

Into the Darkness is obtained during chapter five, also called The Spiral. To unlock this trophy, players need to jump off the path and into the void. They’ll quickly respawn, but they’ll also attain the trophy. Finally, Run, Move, Run! requires players to enter the tower in chapter seven, The Exchange, on their first try. This can actually done as many times as needed, but players will need to restart the chapter if they fail. Pull the lever in the room with the owl, run into the dome, pick up the smaller dome, and place it next to the tower. Doing this should afford the player enough time to get through.

And with that, players should have attained all 23 trophies, as the final trophy is the platinum trophy and will be earned as soon as the other 22 are. Of all of these, the hardest ones are by far the speedrun trophies andthe Run, Move, Run! trophy, as they require players to have a solid understanding of each puzzle. To help with this, run through the level once or twice without worrying about speedrunning to help get familiar with it, and then restart the area and try. Since there’s no in game timer, players may have to time themselves to see how close they were to making it.
