8Watch Weapon Durability

Like many survival games,Dying Lightfeatures weapon durability, which means the more a weapon is used, the more it will degrade until it eventually breaks, and becomes unusable. Players will want to keep themselves aware of this mechanic for a few reasons.

One of the reasons it is important to check weapon durability is because if a player is blocking attacks, or even on the offensive, a weapon breaking will make them vulnerable, especially in a dangerous situation. Another reason may be that they find a weapon they like, only to have it destroyed due to overuse.

7Avoid The Night

The night is dark and full of terrors, andDying Lightmakes that clear from the moment players take control of their characters.During the night, navigating the streets is far more dangerous for a multitude of factors.

Zombies become more aggressive, new types of infected make themselves known to the player, and the darkness makes parkour a lot harder due to the lack of visibility. The night will net the player better loot and XP, but they have to weigh the odds of whether is it worth their death so early into the game.

6Don’t Ignore Missions

There’s a lot of side content inDying Light, and plenty of side quests will have the player learning more about their character, the game, and how they can help people. As soon as side quests pop up inDying Light, players should go to them to begin the mission at hand, even if they solve it passively.

By starting each mission that the player comes across, they are bound to start progress, or even complete the mission just by being in a new area. It opens up new ways to get XP, money, and potential weapon upgrades, so missions certainly should not be ignored.

5Utilize Firecrackers

Like many games with crafting mechanics, some players often leave them unattended and unexplored.Dying Lightfeatures craftable Firecrackers, and it would be a mistake for the player to ignore these tools if they want to make the game easier in terms of avoiding combat, defeating specific infected, andutilizing traversal mechanics.

The player can hold a ridiculous amount of Firecrackers, and they can be thrown to distract the infected and clear a path for the player without combat. They are also great at exploding the “Bomber” infected type, who will explode upon proximity to the player or a firecracker.

3Unlock Safe Zones

There are many Safe Zones inDying Lightthat the player can unlock. In these areas, players can do whatever they want without thefear of infectedcreeping in to disrupt the peace. There are even UN lights to prevent Volatiles and night-infected from getting too close.

The map is infested with these Safe Zones, and players should not make the mistake of ignoring them, as they will never know when they are in trouble and need to find somewhere safe to lie down for a while. Safe Zones will help make the game easier.

2Don’t Fight Them All

There are more infected than there are survivors, and players cannot fight them all. It would be a mistake to think that due to their slow movements, the player can take on the armies of the undead. The infected move in groups, and there can be a dangerous amount of them, with little reward for killing them all in thisopen-world horror game.

Players should be cautious of these large clusters of infected, and avoid them when necessary so that they do not break their weapons or risk injuring themselves before an essential fight comes around. It’s not worth taking them out when they will just return later.

1Stamina Is King

All too often, players find themselves unaware of their stamina bar. It is not exactly the clearest of the HUD, but it is essential. When players are out of stamina, they cannot jump, run or swing their weapon, but they can still kick, a vital piece of information to be aware of when players get overrun.

It’s always a good idea to just keep aware of that stamina bar to make sure that the player is not helpless when it comes to being overrun. The moment their stamina bar is low, players should be aware of their surroundings so that they can recover and get themselves to safety before jumping back into danger.
