My Hero Academiachapter 398 dropped earlier today and it is safe to say that this was one of the most touching chapters that fans have read in quite a while. The chapter focused heavily on the character of Yagi Toshinori, who fans better knowby the name of All Might.

For years, fans have seen All Might be the Symbol of Peace and protect society from the threat of villains, upholding justice with a proud smile on his face, however, fans never knew how All Might got there in the first place. That is precisely whatMy Hero Academiachapter 398 focused on and, at the same time, also provided fans with a glimpse of the ongoingfight between All For One and All Might.
How All Might Became Nana’s Apprentice
The vast majority ofMy Hero Academiachapter 398 focused on Yagi Toshinori and his meeting with Nana. In the previous chapter, fans saw him fighting against a horde of villains, only using a pipe in his hand. It was quite clear to see that Yagi wanted to fight for justice and believed in himself, however, it was nearly impossible for him to achieve anything the way he was. Realizing that, Yagi ended up chasing Nana and asked her to take him under her wing. Naturally, Nana realized that he was not fit to become a Hero simply because he did not have a Quirk. However, despite that, she could see the zeal that this young boy possessed in his heart. He explained to her why he wanted to become a Hero in the first place.

The chapter also gave fans a bit of an insight into the family of Yagi Toshinori. At the very beginning of this flashback, Yagi mentioned that his entire family had died and he had no one left to protect. However, at the same time, he also made it clear that he wanted to protect not just those close to him, but everyone who was crushed by the tyranny of evil villains. He didn’t want justice for his dead family members alone. He wanted the victims to be heard and, to uphold justice, he believed that a symbol was needed. According to Yagi, for years, the powerful had preyed upon the powerless and the villains had been running amok with no one to turn to.
While the vast majority of Heroes would want to tackle villains on an everyday basis, Yagi had a different vision. He wanted to create an era where someone would rise as the Symbol of Peace and villains would cower in fear at the mere presence of the symbol. Since he was born without a Quirk and was, thus, jobless, Yagi believed that he was the perfect candidate to take on the task. That is precisely how he ended up becomingthe apprentice of Nana Shimuraand, from there onwards, he likely trained incredibly hard under her in order to meet her expectations.
Fans also know that he ended up meeting Gran Torino, who also did well to train him. Eventually, the One For All was passed on to Yagi and he ended up becoming the 8th user of this generational Quirk. Taking on the name of All Might, Yagi succeeded in creating an era of tranquility and established himself as a Symbol of Peace, widely loved and respected by all the people.
New Abilities Of Armored All Might
My Hero Academiachapter 398 also focused quite a bit on the fight between All Might and All For One in the current timeline. While a good portion of the chapter focused on the flashback, giving fans an idea of how All Might rose to the very top, it also focused on the ongoing fight between the two powerhouses.All For One, with his incredibly overpowered body, and All Might, without any Quirk, fighting for supremacy one last time. Fans were incredibly excited at seeing the developments in this week’s chapter and, as expected, All Might ended up using more of his unique powers that have been inspired by the Quirks of his students.
It was expected of him to use something similar to Acid, the Quirk of Mina Ashido, and that is precisely what he ended up showing inMy Hero Academiachapter 398. Thanks to Hercules, All Might made use of canisters that hit All For One and lodged themselves into his body, releasing the corrosive powers of Pinky Acid. The damage they did to All For One was tremendous and even he had to regenerate over and over again to heal, which is precisely what All Might was aiming for. The idea here is to make him regenerate as often as possible, speeding up the rewind process, until he eventually turns into nothing.
At the moment, it seems that All For One is consumed with rage and has not noticed exactly what All Might is planning, however, it won’t be long before he gets a clear idea of what’s being done and what he needs to do to avoid that outcome. Nonetheless, the fight between these two was certainly incredible to witness once again for the fans inMy Hero Academiachapter 398.
All Might: Rising
Of course, it was only a matter of time before All For One retaliated inMy Hero Academiachapter 398 saw him send All Might through a bunch of buildings. With his body already compromised to a great degree, one would expect All Might to just give up, however, given the Hero that he is, he is going to stick to his task and fight to win. All Might stood up once again in front of All For One and showed him that even a Quirkless man can battle against the Demon Lord if they have enough conviction. It appears that All Might still has quite a few tricks up his sleeve and they were shown to the fans towards the end of the chapter. Thanks to Hercules, who has been a constant help to All Might throughout this fight, All Might took yet another stand at the end of the chapter by making use of more adjustments to his body.
Hercules sent more armor his way and it appears that he has even stronger weapons up his sleeve now. With the new adjustments, All Might now gains powerful Uravity Thrusters as well as the power of Ingenium. Fans know these Quirks to be the ones that Ochaco and Iida use in battle. With Ingenium, he will likely gain a tremendous amount of speed, and with the Uravity Thruster, he will most likely gain powers related to gravity.
At the end of the chapter, even Deku could feel All Might fightingagainst All For Onewith all his strength and that is only going to make him fight even harder himself. It is only a matter of time before fans get to see what All Might is capable of and how he will fare against All For One from here onwards. His only goal here is to help people and, as the greatest hero of all time, a conclusion to his story while helping people would be absolutely perfect. It is safe to say that Horikoshi is handling this absolutely perfectly and fans are very curious to see which way this fight ends up going.
