Summary

It’s been eight years since the lastNaruto Ultimate Ninja Stormgame was released, but luckily, the popular anime fighting game series has returned, and it’s bringing plenty of new characters and features. One returning mechanic is the Ultimate Jutsu technique, an immensely powerful super move that the player can pull off after saving up enough Chakra during a battle.

Super attacks are common withinthe fighting game genre, but what makes them so special in theNaruto Ultimate Ninja Stormseries is how over the top and exaggerated they are. Whether it’s bringing characters back from the dead, summoning a legendary Tailed Beast, or even calling down a meteorite, the games have become synonymous with these tremendous finishing moves.Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionsfeatures all the attacks that have made an appearance in the past, along with a few fresh ones for the new characters.

Kakuzu, Itachi, and Deidara being brought back with Edo Tensei

8Kabuto Yakushi (Snake Cape)

Three fan-favorite Akatsuki members appear.

No one could have expected that Kabuto would eventually become as powerful as he did afterthe demise of Orochimaru. He eventually possesses the power to bring people back to life and control them through Edo Tensei. Kabuto essentially kicks off the Fourth Great Ninja War due to this power, and fans get to see the ability on full display during Kabuto’s Ultumate Jutsu.

After sending two clones to grab the opponent, Kabuto will activate the Jutsu and summon Itachi, Kakuzu, and Deidara, three deadly members of the Akatsuki. They each fire off their own unique Jutsu abilities to obliterate the enemy. This is a great bit of fan service that also demonstrates how terrifying Kabuto is as a villain.

Naruto using Kurama clones to create two Wind Shurikens

7Naruto (Sage Of The Six Paths Mode)

Naruto’s tremendous power is on full display.

Naruto has several iterations that players can choose from inNaruto Storm Connections. One of his most powerful is when he’s able to utilize the Sage of the Six Paths' Chakra to elevate his attacks and abilities. His regular Jutsu, the Tailed Beast Rasen-Shuriken, already looks powerful enough. But when activating his Ultimate Jutsu, Naruto manifests Nine-Tailed Beast Clones to form two powerful Rasen Shurikens, ready to decimate anyone they make contact with.

Naruto’s Rasengan-clone attack is a feast for the eyes thanks to how beautifully it’s animated. It does go on for a while, but it’s hard not to enjoy the sheer spectacle on display here.

Koji standing in front of a whirlwind of flames

6Koji Kashin

The most devastating-looking flame jutsu.

One of the game’s most exciting additions fromtheBorutoseriesis Koji, a deadly clone of the legendary Seinen Jiraiya who often resides in the Land of Fire. Koji has mastered the art of Fire Release, which is his primary tool for dealing with opponents. This ruthlessness is on full display in his Ultimate Jutsu.

After manipulating the ground to catch the enemy fighter off guard, Koji uses Sage Art: Divine Fire Gods Fan of Flames Jutsu, which covers the opponent in a whirlwind of hellish fire. There are a lot of Fire Jutsu in theNaruto Stormgames, but this one stands out for its visual flare, and how menacing it makes Koji look.

Metero hitting the planet in Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections

5Madara Uchiha

Madara calls down a meteorite.

Madara isn’t just one of the most powerful villains inNaruto. He could be calledone of the most destructive and dangerous beings in all of animeand manga. It says something about a character when an army of thousands trembles in fear at just the sight of them. Madara demonstrates why he should be feared by pulling down an entire meteorite as part of his Ultimate Jutsu.

It’s hard to think of a better way to showboat a limitless amount of power. It results in one of the most outlandish special moves in any fighting game. While it does put Madara’s immense amount of power on display, the move could have shown off Madara’s more arrogant side in the animation. Nonetheless, this attack is amazing for how over-the-top it is.

Momoshiki creating a crater on a planet

4Momoshiki Otsutsuki

This jutsu’s over-the-top nature stands out.

Momoshiki was received favorably by fans because he was such a well-developed villain. Unlike a lot of villains inNaruto, he couldn’t be talked down from committing evil acts. This ended up making hima terrifying enemy, especially with his god-like powers.

He’s not shy about showing his merciless attitude in his Ultimate Jutsu. In his attack, he spawns two of his clones to throw the enemy fighter into the air, before summoning several dragons to feed on his prey. That’s not all, though. He then calls down a giant Stone Golem to finish the enemy combatant off, leaving a literal crater on the planet.

Shisui activating a Genjutsu

3Shisui Uchiha

An insight into how terrifying Genjutsu can be.

Genjutsu are among the scariest techniques in the world ofNaruto, as they essentially give the user complete control over their opponent’s actions. No one is better at using Genjutsu than Shisui Uchiha. After rushing at his opponent, Shisui traps them in his own Genjutsu, assuring them that he “Rules everything here.” Several beams of light then shoot down to surround the fighter, before they stumble into one of them.

This Ultimate Jutsu provides a vivid depiction of the sheer power of the Genjutsu technique. What makes this stand out even more is the scene that plays if the Jutsu manages to finish the opponent off. If this happens, and Shisui’s Finishing Scene pops up, he will state that it doesn’t matter whether the opponent’s world is a reality or not, since “you’ve already lost.”

Naruto using a Rasengan

2Naruto Uzumaki (Baryon Mode)

Fire enemies across the screen with a Rasengan and launch them into space.

Throughout his story, Naruto struggles to control the extreme power possessed by the Nine-Tailed Beast. When he eventually learns to cooperate with the monster inside him, his strength reaches a new level, especiallyby the time he becomes Hokage. To start off this massive attack, Naruto pulls out a red Rasengan that sends the opponent flying across the stage. The screen then switches to a slow motion perspective, showing Naruto kicking the enemy into outer space.

He doesn’t do much to cushion their landing though, as Naruto then pulls out a giant Rasengan to send his opponent barreling back into orbit, resulting in a gigantic explosion. Considering that one of Naruto’s first Ultimate Jutsu in the games was a messy, unfocused Nine-Tails Rasengan, this ability does an excellent job at showing just how far he’s come. The smaller additions, such as the slow-motion and the explosion at the end, serve as the icing on the cake.

Sasuke calling down Kirin

1Sasuke Uchiha (Supporting Kage)

A callback to one of the most iconic attacks in the series.

Sasuke has plenty of flashy abilitiesthat he can throw out during a fight. His Ultimate Jutsu attacks are among some of the most memorable from theStormgames. One of his most iconic was Kirin, a lightning bolt that was infamously difficult to dodge. Though this Ultimate Jutsu already stood out for how cool it was, Sasuke puts a spin on it as an adult.Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionsdemonstrates how unstoppable the Uchiha member had become by the end of the series.

Rather than just smiting his opponent with lightning, Sasuke first uses Planetary Devastation to trap them in a giant boulder covered with dark Amaterasu flames. Once he calls down Kirin, a swarm of electric dragons show up to take the enemy down for good, creating a gigantic explosion and annihilating them from within. There are so many things to love about this finisher. Of course, it looks incredible, thanks to the variation in colors and effects. And it’s also a clever way to call back to previous entries in the series while putting a new spin on this iconic move.
