Summary

Xbox Series X players who want to tryNaruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionswill be able to block users playing on Xbox One and comparable hardware to keep the game running at a specific setting. The feature was announced by Bandai Namco three months ahead of the release ofNaruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.

As thefirstNarutogame launching on the current generation of consoles,Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionswill feature an original cast of characters and an original story as one of its main features. With an antagonistic Naruto teased as one of the fights players will contend with, it remains to be seen how that will factor into the plot. In addition, the game will have cross-generation compatibility across PlayStation and Xbox consoles, along with support for PC and the Switch. However, current generation consoles will be able to turn on one feature to keep the selection pool trimmed down and gain a boon.

Narutoplayers will be able to use a new featureon PS5 and Xbox Series X that will block PS4, Xbox One, and Switch players from multiplayer matches to keep the game running at 60 frames per second (FPS). According to Bandai Namco, the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Switch versions ofNaruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionsare locked to 30 FPS to ensure stability. However, the frame rate is doubled on both current-generation consoles. According to the game’s Steam page, PC players that meet the recommended requirements and have a graphics card capable of using DirectX12 will also be able to play at 60 FPS but may experience frame drops during graphically intense scenes.

While playingNaruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionsat 60 FPS is an attractive perk for some players, the option comes with a major caveat. Players that do not bar players using a PS4 and similar consoles from joining a match will be locked to 30 DPS for its duration. By barring them and ensuring 60 FPS during gameplay, this will effectively cut the selection pool by a significant margin considering how many PS4 and Switch units are available compared to the PS5 and Xbox Series X. But, with a vast amount ofpastNarutocharacters making a return,Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionswill have plenty of options for players to use when the game is released.

Between the frame rates, the new story, and a breadth of playable characters,Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionsmay provide the best valueof the entire series. Only time will tell how many players will make the jump to 60 FPS.

Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connectionslaunches on November 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
