FreshPalworldgameplay makes the upcoming game look specifically likePokemon Legends: Arceus, but with guns.Palworldhas been described asPokemonwith gunssince the game was first revealed to the masses, and now the latest trailers make it clear that it will have a lot in common withPokemon Legends: Arceusin particular.
One of the main draws ofPokemon Legends: Arceusis the ability to interact with Pokemon in real-time. This includes being able to physically throw a Poke Ball at a Pokemon and bring out a Pokemon anywhere in the game world. As seen in fresh gameplay videos,Palworldhas a similar approach. Players find the Pokemon-equivalent creatures, called Pals, simply roaming around and living their lives. Players can fight Pals head-on using guns or Pals they already have, and when they’re weakened, catch them to add to their collection.

Palworlddeveloper Pocket Pair has been sharing videos introducing the game’s Pals, with two videos having been released so far. These videos highlight the similarities toPokemon Legends: Arceus, but they also give fans some of their closest looks yet at some of the Pals they will be encountering in the open world survival game. The first Pal players are introduced to is named Foxparks, a creature that seems to have a lot in common withPokemon’s Vulpix.
The video shows thePalworldplayer character shooting at a group of Foxparks and taking one out. They then capture it withPalworld’s Poke Ball equivalent. The video then shows that players can interact with their Pals by petting them and the like, but they can also be used as deadly weapons. In Foxparks' case, it can be used as a flamethrower that players can utilize against theother Pals they come acrossin the game.
The second Pal shown off by Pocket Pair is an electric horse creature named Univolt, which seems similar in concept to Blitzle fromPokemon, but with a visual design that may bemore inspired by Manectric. In any case, this video shows the player character using Foxparks to help catch Univolt, with the latter then used as a mount with an electric attack that can hit multiple enemies at once.
The video ends showing how Foxparks and Univolt can be used for non-combat purposes. At camp, Univolt is seen charging a battery while Foxparks helps build a cooking fire. Fans then get a glimpse of a dinosaur-like creature named Relaxaurus wholooks like Snorlaxmeets Lapras, but we’ll have to wait to learn more about what specifically that creature brings to the table.
Palworldis in development for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
