One Piecechapter 1052 finally dropped a few hours ago and continued the display of jubilation all across Wano. Previously, fans saw Luffy defeat Kaido and finallyfree Wano country from his clutches. With Momonosuke announcing himself as the next Shogun of the country and all the people rallying to him, Oda painted quite a beautiful picture that finally concluded 20 long years of misery for everyone living in the country. At the same time, fans saw Yamato join the Straw Hat Pirates, something that Oda continued to touch upon in this week’s chapter as well.

With One Piece heading towards a one-month break, things are expected to ramp up quite soon and this week’s chapter proved to be the beginning of the end for Wano.

The Winners & Losers Of The War
The alliance’s victory over the Emperors seems to have quickly spread throughout the world meaning the victors of the war have finally been confirmed by Oda himself beyond any doubt. The Yonko Big Mom and Kaido have fallen but their defeat doesn’t just end with the fall of their empires; It also extends to the World Government, making them the losers of this war despite not having fought in it.
The World Government has, for years, tried to maintain the balance of power in the world of One Piece. With the fall of the Yonko, the balance has now been disturbed. What’s more,Luffy has finally awakened his Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, making him the biggest enemy at the moment. Previously, the Gorosei have mentioned that in the past 800 years, nobody managed to awaken this Devil Fruit. With Nika finally back, the World Government will have to be more careful.

In Wano Country, the celebrations continued after Luffy and Zoro finally woke up from their 7 days of recuperation. Meanwhile, people all over the country were seen celebrating for 7 days, which is a way of showing that they are free now to drink clean water and breathe fresh air after 20 years of misery. The upcoming chapter of One Piece will likely give fans a look at the banquet which was promised to be held at the end of the war.
Continuing the theme of victors and losers, Oda also showed fans those of the alliance who died. Starting with Yasuie, who gave his life to preserve the sparks of the rebellion, andending with the likes of Ashura Doji and Izo.In a conversation between Marco, Kin’emon, and Kawamatsu, It was revealed that the dead will all be honored alongside Oden at a new shrine built atop a hill in Wano’s Ringo region, from where they would have a clear look at the bustling Flower Capital. Oda’s clever use of this theme was prevalent throughout the chapter and will likely play into the next one as well.
Cipher Pol & Admiral Ryokugyu
Shortly before Kaido’s defeat, fans saw the last remaining member of CP0 in Wano escape. This week’s chapter gave fans a look at him again as he was speaking to the Gorosei from one of the ships right outside of Wano Country. According to himZunesha, the giant elephant, seems to have left. The Gorosei take this to mean that the borders of Wano Country will not open, for the time being, meaning a direct assault on the country for them remains impossible.
While they are unable to stop either Nika or take Wano Country under their grasp, they still feel they can get their hands on Nico Robin. The last remaining CP0 member mentioned that he can still ensure the capture of Robin, meaning they still plan to attack the country in one way or another. The Cipher Pol are likely to play a big part in the next chapter. While it is unlikely that Nico Robin will be captured by the World Government, it isn’t outside the realms of possibilities.

Even more interestingly, right beforethe Gorosei and the CP0 memberconcluded their conversation, the call was interrupted by someone asking the fleet to remain where they were. This ties well together with the end of the chapter where fans saw an Admiral of the Navy, Ryokugyu, on his way to Wano country. In a conversation with Akainu, he mentioned that he won’t do anything reckless, however, if the Government ships are indeed behind him, it could turn out to be a perilous situation for Nico Robin and the people of Wano.
Furthermore, fans also got a look at his Devil Fruit powers for the first time, and it appears that they have something to do with plants, implying that it is a Paramecia. The story looks set to be focused on Admiral Ryokugyu’s entry into the country and, at the same time, the announcements in the newspaper that Apoo brought along with him. The bounties of all those who took part in the war are set to be revealed as well as the major events that have been going on all across the world.
