The sequel to 2016’s award-winning game known for its punishing difficulty and well-executed gameplay,Darkest Dungeon 2was initially released only on PC. But like its predecessor, it seems that the game will gradually be doled out to other platforms as well.
The first inkling that the gamemight be headed to consoles came in March, when keen-eyed observers noticed thatDarkest Dungeon 2had been rated in Brazilfor Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series consoles, PS4, and PS5. To the disappointment of excited fans, this new rating didn’t reveal a possible release date, but if the pattern of the original game was anything to go by, many people expected the console versions ofDarkest Dungeon 2to arrive sometime in 2024.
Darkest Dungeon 2 DLC Oblivion Edition for PS4 and PS5
Darkest Dungeon 2is also available in a special Oblivion Edition bundle that includes both the base game and the Binding Blade DLC, which adds another questline, a wandering boss, and two new heroes to the experience. An upcoming free update forDarkest Dungeon 2will introduce Kingdoms, a campaign game mode that tasks players with defeating a major threat before it overwhelms the kingdom. They will be able to gather resources to upgrade heroes and a network of Inns, helping them defend against the incursions of monsters.
Darkest Dungeon 2on PS5 will make use of the DualSense controller’s unique haptic feedback technology. Players will be able to feel the heartbeat of characters who have fallen into Death’s Door, as well as the wheels of the Stage Coach as it rolls over a trap.
In addition toDarkest Dungeon 2,PlayStation.Blogalso confirmed thatFive Nights at Freddy’s 2: Help Wantedwill be coming to PS VR2 on June 20, and a new gameplay trailer was released for Stunlock Studios’ highly popular vampire-themed action RPG.
