Summary

Pokemon GOplayers are starting to believe that Niantic is making Revives more difficult to obtain, following the most recent Raid Day event. Revives are especially useful in raid battles with other trainers, but a decrease could mean that more trainers could have a tough time making it through future Raid Day events inPokemon GO.

Pokemon GO’smost recent Raid Day eventsaw players battle with Primal Groudon on Saturday, March 23. During the limited-time event, Primal Kyogre appeared more frequently in raids, and the chance to encounter a Shiny Primal Kyogre was increased. Since players were encouraged to participate in raid battles, Niantic also increased the amount of free Raid Passes they may receive by up to five, and the Remote Raid limit was temporarily increased to 20. However,Pokemon GOplayers began to notice that their supply of Revives was seemingly lower than usual.

While participating in the Primal Groudon Raid Day event, Reddit user Natural-Push2796 and fellowPokemon GOplayers noticed that Revives and Max Revives became more scarce. Niantic didn’t announce a change in the drop rate for revives, but some players claim that Primal Kyogre and Groudon dropped fewer revives compared to Pokemon frompast Raid Day events inPokemon GO. This situation resulted in many players having downed Pokemon in their storage, and some were unable to keep playing in the Raid battles, despite having visited nearby Gyms and PokeStops inPokemon GO. SomePokemon GOplayers, including cmansz00, saw their Revive supply dwindle from over 100 to just a few dozen. Others argue that the Raid battle difficulty may have been increased, but there’s no indication from Niantic that difficulty changes were made in an update.

Pokemon GO Players Notice Decrease in Revive Drops from Raids and PokeStops

The overall reaction from thePokemon GOcommunity appears to be mixed, since some players still have a stockpile of Revives. Players may open gifts, complete research tasks, and participate infuturePokemon GOeventsto raise their supply of Revives, so this may only be a problem in the short term.

Pokemon GOSeason 14 is live until June 2024 with a slate of events being prepared, including new Community Day and Community Day Classic events in the next three months. On April 9,the newPokemon GOSizable Surprises eventwill feature three new Pokemon, increased Shiny encounter rates, more Raid battles, and new Field Research tasks. Visiting PokeStops and completing Field Research tasks during the event awards players with Revives, Poke Balls, and other useful items.
