Redbox is now offering some of the cheapest prices on physical editions of video games that have ever been seen. Earlier this month, rental kiosk serviceRedbox announced that it was discontinuing the option of renting games. It is no surprise the company is trying to get rid of as much inventory as possible by selling some of the biggest games of the generation for some of the lowest prices we’ve seen.
Redbox is selling games for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Some of the biggest deals on 2019 releases includeDeath Strandingfor a mere $25,Super Mario Maker 2for $30, andCall of Duty: Modern Warfarefor $30. A much needed caveat to all these deals if that, of course, these games are pretty heavily used. Not a huge fan of buying used games? Then these deals might not be the best choice. It’s also worth mentioning that the prices of these games appear to be fluctuating in real time, so those interested may want to check back multiple times to get the best deal.

There is no hard and fast end date to these deals. The Redbox website says that the deals are available “while supplies last” and that prices may vary depending on region and kiosk. Other game deal highlights include most Switch games starting at $30, includingSuper Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu, andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.Earlier today, these Switch games were appearing at $15 per game but appear to have gone up in most regions. Once again, the prices are very much in flux and can vary depending on the region, so be safe and double check the prices before driving out to the local Redbox.
Redbox has been having a rough couple years following aseries of lawsuits with Disneyregarding copyright misuse. The video rental company is still afloat, but in a world where new digital streaming platforms are popping up on what seems like a monthly basis the market is shrinking very quickly.
This is just one place to get extremely cheap video games this holiday season as most digital storefronts are having holiday sales, including Steam and the Epic Games Store. Some of 2019’s biggest games likeBorderlands 3are on salefor the lowest prices to date.
