Summary
Persona 3 Reloadsees players having to juggle the everyday lives of high school students by attending class, socializing, and taking part in extracurricular activities with their secret midnight gig where they moonlight as SEES, an exclusive club of students who can summon Personas, and use them to fight shadows during a secret hidden hour known as the Dark Hour.
The main character can hold multiple Personas that can be found or created, with each being distinct in terms of abilities and design. Some Personas areinspired by mythology, some are cute, and others are beautiful, or even downright frightening. Some Personas are so frightening that they don’t look like they are from a JRPG, and instead look like they come straight from aterrifying horror game.

1Zouchouten
A Less-Than-Human Warrior
Zouchouten may have a more normal appearance when compared to most other Personas, as his anatomy is at the very least human, but this does nothing to stop him from being a frightening Persona to behold. Found in thesecond section of Tartarus, Zouchouten is a popular pick for his abilities, but not his appearance.
He wears armor and wields a polearm like a warrior of old, and the permanent scowl fixed on his less-than-human face makes him one of the more intimidating Personas encountered. Players can thank their lucky stars he is on their side, and not the shadows, as Zouchouten would definitely be an intimidating foe to have to fight.

2Slime
Has An (Unsurprisingly) Disgusting Appearance
Slime is an unfortunate mainstay of the series, appearing as a recruitable Persona across multiple games, and even cameoing in theanime based onPersona4. It can be recruited through Arcane Shuffle in the Arqa block of Tartarus, as well as fused in the Velvet Room, should players be bold enough to choose to gain this Persona.
Its disgusting and scary appearance makes it a very off-putting Persona for players to recruit, but thankfully there are many better, less frightening Personas that players can find in this section of Tartarus to save themselves from having to look at the rather unsettling and nausea-inducing Slime.

3Gurulu
A Winged, Skeletal Beast
It makes perfect sense that one of the Personas necessary to fuse one of the creepiest Personas throughout the game would be inherently scary in itself. Gurulu can be found on the floors of the Arqa block, or by fusing Onmoraki with either Jack Frost or Nekomata, and is one of the key Personas necessary to craft Pale Rider.
Gurulu looks like an eagle of death and darkness, with their skeletal-like appendages, black feathered wings, and a peculiar face with sharp features that even a mother would struggle to love. The eerie presence of this Persona is sure to send shivers down the spines of even the bravest gamers.

4Pale Rider
Fear The Reaper
Pale Rider is one of the Personas that can only be unlocked by using the three-spread fusion in the Velvet Room, rather than found in Tartarus or through normal fusion. Players will need to gain the Personas Berith, Gurulu, and Matador to fuse Pale Rider.
Not only are they apowerful Personawith plenty of useful Dark abilities in their repertoire, but they are also one of the most unnerving. They bear a resemblance to the Grim Reaper with their skeletal appearance, black hooded robe, and massive scythe, and ride atop a white horse, which Death is said to ride upon according to the Bible. Pale Rider is bound to strike fear into the hearts of any who behold them, as they will think Death has come to reap their souls.

5Omoikane
A Brain Dripping With Tentacles
If looks could kill, Omoikane would have a hefty body count. Its unearthly and unnerving appearance is reminiscent of aBeholder fromDungeons and Dragonswith the many eye-stalks that stare unblinkingly at whoever is unfortunate enough to be caught in its line of sight, only more disgusting thanks to its main body being that of a brain dripping with tentacles.
It is a rather useful Persona to have thanks to its Zio ability and itscapacity to heal, but Omoikane won’t be winning any beauty contestants anytime soon, and it is so creepy players will be hesitant to even recruit it in the first place, never mind to use it in battle.
