Skyrim: Anniversary Editionlaunches for the Epic Games Store. One of the most prominent video gaming memes throughout the 2010s was about howSkyrimwas being re-released on every possible platform Bethesda could think of. There’s even a version of the game on Amazon Alexa, so it wasn’t exactly like the gaming community came up with this meme out of thin air. Even over a decade afterSkyrimfirst launched, the fifthElder Scrollsgame is still seemingly finding new life on more platforms.

Recently,Skyrim: Anniversary Editionmade its way to the Nintendo Switch. Previously,Skyrimhad been available for the Switch, but the Anniversary Edition that released last year contained some new content for even those who ventured through the land of the Nords way back in 2011. Also, for those who don’t want to buy the DLCs forSkyrim, the Anniversary Edition contains the Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn content as well.

Now,Skyrim: Anniversary Editionhas launched for the Epic Games Store as well. Unfortunately,Skyrim: Anniversary Editionwas not listed asthe free title on the Epic Games Store this week, and is currently priced at $50. For those that already own some form ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, the upgrade price will be $20.

Despite many fans stating that they are getting tired of the constant re-releases ofSkyrim, Bethesda has made statements regarding the launching of the game on more platforms. In 2018, Todd Howard remarked that the company will keep re-releasingSkyrimso long as the those re-releases continue to make money. Of course, rather than journey again intoThe Elder Scrolls 5, a lot of fans are waiting for thehighly anticipatedElder Scrolls 6to release. However, it might be some years still before the sequel toSkyrimcomes out.
