7Trosky Castle
This Is A Real-Life Bohemian Castle
While many will have spotted a highly distinct castle in theKCD 2trailer, not everyone will know that this isthe real-life locationof Trosky Castle, the ruins of which tourists can still visit. In fact, this castle is the center of one of the game’s two maps with the fantasy-like Bohemian Paradise surrounding it.
Impressively built on steep volcanic rock, the castle has two iconic towers known in Czech as Panna and Baba, which translate to the Virgin and the Hag. Players can expect to spend plenty of time here as it was seen from multiple angles in the footage, and there are many legends and mysteries surrounding the castle to set the mind spinning.
6Half-Swording & The Mordhau Technique
This Historically Accurate Technique Will Be Present In The Sequel
While it might appear dangerous, the practice of holding the middle of the blade is a documented technique from the Middle Ages. After only being included in the first game very briefly as part of a combo, it appears there is more half-swording functionality in the sequel.
Furthermore, in the section where the developers are talking about the immersion of the game’sfirst-person melee combat, attentive fans have spotted Henry using the technique known as a mordhau or murder-strike. This is when a swordsman uses both of their hands to grip the blade and strikes their opponent with the pommel or cross guard in the hope of inflicting blunt trauma damage.
5Mutt The Dog
The Beloved Companion From The Original Game
Mutt was the dog of the Butcher in Skalitz before the settlement was attacked, and if players have theA Woman’s LotDLC for the first game, they are able to adopt him. Mutt must be fed and praised regularly; otherwise, he will run off and not come back for a while. In return, he helps Henry hunt small game and can even get involved in combat.
Fans of the original with keen eyes will have seen Mutt more than once in theKingdom Come: Deliverance 2footage, including a moment when Henrypets his loyal dog. Furthermore, a developer has confirmed that players will also be able to pet their trusty steeds, and this is seen later in the footage, too.
4Pavise Shields
These Long & Beautiful Decorated Shields Were Used As Cover By Crossbowmen & Archers
One small detail from theKCD 2reveal trailer that fans may have missed was a selection of beautifully painted pavise shields that could be seen in the background during a siege. Although the concept of using tall shields as cover while reloading ranged weapons was not a new idea unique to the late Middle Ages, these particular shields are highly distinct.
With a prominent central ridge that provides more stability, as well as usually coming with a spike attached to the bottom, a pavise could be planted in the ground, acting as a temporary wall. They were particularly useful in siege warfare and were mostly used by crossbowmen as well as archers. While it is not known if players will be able to use a pavise inKCD 2, their addition will add even more flavor to a title that promises to be one of themost historically accurate games ever.

Henry vows to return the sword to Sir Radzig, and the mission becomes understandably symbolic for him, given the deaths of his parents and a certain detail he finds out later. While Henry is unable to acquire the sword in the first game, even though he finds out whose possession it is in, players get a glimpse of it in the trailer forKingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
2The Return Of Immersive Alchemy & New Forms Of Crafting
Players Will Be Able To Craft Many Things In First Person
One ofKingdom Come: Deliverance’s most underrated features that make ita must-play to this dayis the ability to craft potions in first person by following step-by-step instructions from a book. This highly immersive alchemy feature requires players to pay attention and even boil the potion for a set amount of time, lest it turns out badly. Thankfully, there is a small snippet in the reveal trailer that shows Henry reading about Belladona andThistlebefore going about work with a mortar and pestle, confirming this is a returning feature.
In the same section, players can see the return of other mini-games and features, such as the Farkle dice game and the ability to sit at a wheel to sharpen one’s sword. Additionally, any players who noticed a sword being forged will be glad to know that this is a confirmed feature forKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which makes sense with Henry being the son of a blacksmith. It appears to be a hands-on feature with lots of steps, just like alchemy.
1It Appears That Father Godwin Will Fight Alongside Henry
This Odd But Lovable Priest Appears To Be Making A Return
One familiar face who fans have spotted in theKCD 2trailer is the former warrior-priest, Father Godwin, who appears to have returned tothe life of the swordto fight alongside Henry. While it isn’t confirmed that the character seen is everyone’s favorite priest from the original game, it does look a lot like him, and the character in question can even be heard saying a prayer while making the sign of the cross.
Without spoiling too much, one of the most memorable quests fromKingdom Come: Deliveranceinvolves some pretty wild antics with the priest, and his return would be warmly welcomed by all fans.
