Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’s LEGO animator is back at it, animating the bloopers from the film.

In January, Preston Muntanga recreated the secondSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versetrailer using LEGO animation in Blender and posted it to his YouTube. Muntaga’s video was so impressive that it caught the attention ofAcross the Spider-Versecreators Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who also wrote and directedThe Lego Movie. Lord and Miller contacted Muntanga to see if he could animate theSpider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseLEGO scenes. Muntanga ended up animating the scenes for them during his spring break.

Recently, Muntanga posted a YouTube video turning the behind-the-scenes bloopers fromSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseinto a LEGO animation. The video includes Shameik Moore, Hailey Steinfeld, Issa Rae, and Daniel Kaluuya as their Spider-Verse characters animated with LEGO mini figures. There’s also a clip of LEGO Spider-Woman dropping an F-bomb.

The video shows a mix ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versecharacters in the recording booth or on a film set. Additionally, the video clip looks at what Lord and Miller would look like as LEGO mini figures whilemaking fun of The Spot. The beginning of the clip also says that this is volume one of the animated LEGO bloopers, so expect some more shortly.

There is something so nostalgic about a video like this. It is reminiscent of other animated movies with animated bloopers on the DVD. Pixar used to do them a lot, and although most of them were scripted, they were still fun. Additionally, the little details in these shots are so interesting, like how Muntanga designed the water bottle that Spider-Punk uses and how the characters' heads spin all the way around. These details make Muntanga’s videos unique.

Muntanga is talented and does amazing work while only 14 years old. He has a bright future ahead of him, and hopefully, fans will get to see more of his work inSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseor a different fully LEGO movie. Until then, fans can find more of his work on his YouTube and Twitter, where he has recreated manyfan-favoriteSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versescenesand moments from other franchises likeMario,Star Wars,Shrek, andBreaking Bad.
