A lot of these sliders determine seemingly minor things, but they allow players to create more interesting stories in their matches. On top of this, those who are looking for the most realistic wrestling experience possible will want to look at a few settings, in particular, to really make in-game matches seem like the real thing inWWE 2K22.
5Stamina Recovery Rate
The stamina system was significantly overhauled inWWE 2K22. Previously, it was a constant factor that players had to manage, determining how fast they could move, and what attacks they could perform. InWWE 2K22, it’s much more minor, only becoming a factor is players really push themselves, performing lots of high-octane moves in succession.
As such, players may want to make it more of a deciding factor in matches. For this, dramatically decreasing the speed at which stamina recovers may make it more of a challenging experience, andmaking mistakes far more punishing. This makes it more like real wrestling matches, where the competitors need to pace themselves, so they can go the distance and pull off their biggest moves.

4Post Match Run-In
Run-ins are a big part of wrestling. Whenever they happen, they can helpfurther feuds or stories, or just make a wrestler seem like a dirty player for resorting to such tactics.WWE 2K22has three settings for the frequency these run-ins happen. When they happen unexpectedly, they can be a lot of fun, and may even give players ideas for stories, feuds, ordream matchesthey hadn’t previously considered.

Players can customize how frequently run-ins happen during entrances, mid-match, or post-match independently. For a realistic WWE experience, arguably the most common type of run-in is the post-match run-in. It is common to see short matches followed by long angles and brawls after matches on WWE weekly TV, and this slider can help put that in the game too.
3Signature & Finisher Reversal Window
A lot of different types of attacks are able to have their reversal windows altered. This can make it easier for people who can’t react as quickly, or harder for those who are well-versed in this kind of gameplay. Additionally, players can tweak how frequently the AI reverses each kind of move too.
The moves that should always be the hardest to reverse are thesignature and finisher moves. These are the big match-ending moves, and it shouldn’t be so easy for players to slip out of them. On TV, many finishing moves are seen as so powerful specifically because they’re very hard to escape, so making them trickier to avoid would be realistic.

2Rollout Frequency
Multi-man matches can be pretty chaotic in wrestling. In a Triple Threat match, it’s not so bad, but when matches start to have four or more participants, things can get very troublesome very quickly. Additionally, these kinds of matches canend up going on forever in the game, purely because the other competitors can get in the ring and break up any pin attempts very easily.

To make things more realistic, and easier in multi-man matches, players can increase the frequency with which wrestlers will roll out of the ring and be “stunned” on the outside for a little while. There is another setting with changes to how long they’ll remain stunned too. It can make a match flow more like the real thing, where generally only a couple of competitors are in the ring at once, part of the action.
1Referee Downtime
A classic heel tactic in wrestling, attacking the refereeis about the dirtiest thing that can be done in a regular match. It presents some great opportunities, though, as whilst the referee isn’t looking, players can go and grab weapons, or uncover the turnbuckle in order to get a sneaky advantage over their opponent.
Unfortunately, the default length of time that referees stay down for inWWE 2K22isn’t nearly long enough to be able to do this, meaning players will often have to attack the referee twice to get the result they want. This is a problem, as attacking the referee too much will give an instant disqualification. Thankfully, there is a slider that allows players to change how long referees will stay down for when they’re attacked, giving players a lot more time to perform whatever dirty deeds they had in mind.

WWE 2K22is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
