InThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, shrines offer a number of challenges that test a specific ability of a player. The Mayak Shrine presents players with a set of two puzzlers meant to challenge them on their timing and reflexes. For players less confident in these abilities, this shrine can prove to be one of the more difficult shrines inTears of the Kingdom.

Mayak Shrine Location in TotK
Players are able to find the Mayak Shrine on the northern edge of Hyrule in the East Deplian Badlands. The closest tower is theThyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, and players can use it to enter the sky and glide to the northeast.
It is located northwest of Death Mountain around the coordinates 1270, 3733, 0106 and lies outside the area of intense volcanic heat, so players need not worry abouthaving fireproof armor.

Mayak Shrine Walkthrough
As players enter the Mayak Shrine, they will find a series of ramps and a switch that moves a pressure target out from under them. Players should turn to the left and take the launcher up to the higher platform.
How to Solve the First Puzzle in the Mayak Shrine
Using Ultrahandto place a large stone ball at the top of the ramp, the challenge of this room is to time hitting the switch so that the ball will land on the target.
This all comes down to the player’s reflexes and how quickly they can react to the ball dropping. Hitting the switch when the ball is just about to roll off the ramp (as shown in the second picture above) is roughly where the timing lines up.

An alternate method for success is to shoot an arrow at the switch in midair to slow down time, giving the player more time to react. Another would be touse Recall to hold the ballover where the pressure target will be, then quickly cancel by pressing the L-Button again and striking the switch.
Whatever method is used, if successful, the door to the next room will open, and players can use the launcher to cross the gap with their glider.

How to Solve the Second Puzzle in the Mayak Shrine
In the next room, players will find another switch in addition to a pool of water and another launcher in the area below. The switch will once again pull a pressure target out from under a platform for a short period of time.
Players will need to ascend the very tall room using the launcher on the right, then another launcher about halfway up.

At the top, players will find a familiar setup: a ramp and a large stone ball.
When placed on the ramp, the ball will roll down and over the edge. If players prefer, they can use Recall to hold the ball in place for a short time, giving them a little more time to get into position. They should, however, be careful not to let it rewind back onto the flat pedestal.

The timing with this puzzle will be a little more complex as Link will need to quickly get down to the switch. The pool of water allows Link to dive straight down from the ledge pictured above, but for a more quick turnaround, it’s recommended that players drop quickly and then open their glider just above the switch.
Once it falls, the ball will accelerate quickly downward, requiring fast reflexes to time the switch.

The recommended strategy is to once again take advantage of the slowed time whilefiring an arrowmidair. Dropping alongside the ball can help line up the timing and provide a better view.
As with the first puzzle, players also have the option to useRecall to stop the ball’s velocitybefore it reaches the bottom. They can then cancel and hit the switch to attempt a more manageable drop.

Players could take this method a step further and hold the ball in place over where the target will be for a short period of time. This will allow players to better control the Recall method.
How to Get the Hidden Chest in the Mayak Shrine
Before leaving the tall room, players can find the shrine’s hidden chest dangling from a rope over the pool of water in the corner of the room.
Using the launchers to ascend once again, players can shoot a midair arrow at the chest to have it drop safely into the pool below. After fishing out the chest with Ultrahand, players can open it to receive aLarge Zonai Charge. They can then proceed to the final chamber to receive their Light of Blessing from the statue.
